Can anyone tell me how long it has been taking to get back your original documents. I sent the G884 form in ant the end of August and I have not heard anything back at all. Just wondering if anyone has got one back lately.

This doesn't necessarily answer your question. However, I was on the phone with a USCIS rep Thursday about an N-565 case. I asked about the G-884 timeline. The rep told me that if I didn't hear anything in 60 days to call the national 800 number to follow up. She did confirm that USCIS does not provide a receipt for the G-884.

Did you send it to Cleveland? That is likely why. Unless things have really changed there is a specific office you send it to, the address is somewhere on this blog, but Cleveland isn't invloved, even if that is your USCIS (it's ours too). I got a letter about a week or two after I mailed my request from them saying they were working on it and several weeks later it was delivered:-)

You send the form to the office that last took action on your case. Most of the time the last action was the COC. I wouldn't wait around hoping Cleveland will respond. It takes MONTHS for Cleveland do send a letter telling you that they think you didn't do something right -- trust me -- I've gotten this letter several times.

Most likely the COC came from Buffalo. If that's the case you should complete a new request and send it to Buffalo rather than wait for Cleveland to respond.

We came home on an ir4 and the Cleveland office was the last place that took action. We received her COC in August and then I mailed out the g-884 form right after words. I'm not sure if I should try to send it to them again or just keep waiting. I called the 1-800 number and they told me the only way that I can get information about it is if I set up a appointment with a USCIS officer. I live 2 hours away that is a little hard to do.
