We received work this morning that our second DNA test was completed with results being sent to Embassy. How long does it take for the Embassy to give us our appointment (assuming they receive it tomorrow afternoon) and approximately how much notice do they give you before you travel? Will it be different since we are getting close to Christmas?

If your results are on their way back to Guatemala they will probably get there tomorrow or more than likely Monday. If they arrive on Monday, you should receive your PINK appointment notice by Wednesday with an appointment the next week. You'll just squeak by and be home before Christmas. Even if it's a couple days more of a delay you can still end up with an appointment that week!!

After the Embassy receives your results it takes about 48 hours to issue a Pink slip and then any where from 1-2 weeks until you travel. So basically you better get packing! :-) You might be celebrating Christmas in Guatemala or maybe New Year!

The results should get there Friday but they don't seem to bother touching them on Friday's so it would normally get checked in and Pink sent out Monday. However, MOnday 12/8 is a Catholic holiday (Feast of the Immaculate Conception) and may be a slow day at the USE... They're open and doing appointments that day, but may not be processing and issuing pinks. Best to assume you won't hear until late Tuesday. Appointment likely early the next week: probably 6-8 days lead time.
