Wow....let me bring the average age UP a bit in here! hahahahaha Our Guatling was born when I was a mere 43 years old and we finally brought here home when I was 44. Now she's 3 and I'm 46 and I'm having SO much fun enjoying my career and watching her grow and learn! If I'd known how much fun this was going to be, I might have adopted more while I was going through the process!!!! My life is working out just perfectly for us!

I had my daughter at 29. Carlos came home a week before I turned 40. I always wanted to be a young mom but I cannot imagine it now. Like Dee said sometimes I don't think we will ever retire.

I was almost 20 when my first son was born,21 when my 2nd was born, 24 when my 3rd son was born, 29 when Sara Ava came home and 30 when Lilee came home. They are 12, 11,7,4,and 2 now.

I had to have my kids early. First I was told I would not be able to have kids due to a bad car accident, and then after we got married I was told if you want to have a baby you need to do it now. I had alot of trouble with all my pregnancies but praise the Lord we
delivered early but healthy babies.

5/9/07 - Home study completed
5/31/07 - I-171H approval. Officially "paper ready"!
6/25/07 - New attorney means 2nd POA
7/19/07 - 2nd POA gets to Guatemala
8/??/07 - DNA supposed to take place...birthmother doesn't show
8/27/07 - 2nd attempt at DNA...birthmom doesn't show again!
9/20/07 - 3rd attempt at DNA...same story, birthmom doesn't show
BIRTH MOTHER HAS DISAPPEARED
11/15/07 - Little Olivia's 2nd birthday
12/9/07 - We inform agency that we'd like to pursue an Abandonment Decree
12/15/07 - Agency agrees, needs to confer with Guat. attorneys
12/17/07 - After conferring, we are advised not to pursue AD, due to process changeover
2/8/08 - Agency has hired a private investigator to search for birthmom...............................
3/3/08 - Received confirmation of CNA registration
3/08 - Assigned a new attorney who will plead our case for abandonment.
4/08 - Private investigator comes to a dead end in finding birthmom
5/23/08 - Renewed USCIS fingerprints
6/11/08 - I-171H approval...again.
7/9/08 - Home study agency says we need to update our home study
8/14/08 - Assigned to our 4th attorney who will plead our case for abandonment.
10/24/08 - Homestudy update complete
10/27/08 - Request USCIS for I-600A extension
11/9/08 - Completed the 10 hour course of required Adoption Training Education
11/15/08 - Olivia's 3rd birthday

Yikes, I am one of the oldies! I had my first at 36, second at 37, and third at 39. I was 44 when Eddie was born and 46 when Naldo was born. I don't feel that old, but the idea of being a 51 year old mother of a kindergartener kind of freaks me out.

Now everyone BUT her, when you feel aches and pains and just too old.....remember us. We give new meaning to the term "late bloomer".

I was one month shy of FIFTY, when Maya came home. (She is 49 years younger than me)

Age is just a number....if I live to 100 - entirely possible any more, Maya will be 49 and I might be a great grandmother by then!

I turned 18 the month before our oldest was born. he is now 20!! I am begging him not to make me a grandma for at least 7-8 more years!!

I went to nursing school after I had him and then was
27 for our 2nd, 30 for our 3rd and was 36 when Maya was born and came home!! Wow does time fly by!!

I was 34 when Isaac was born and 35 when he came home. I never thought I'd have to wait this long...I wanted kids right away after we were married 10 years ago. I guess God had other plans...and I'm glad he did!

I'm with you! 47 when Ana's adoption was finalized, 48 when J's adoption was finalized. They are now the reason I eat healthy, exercise and make sure I get a lot of sleep. They are also the reason I don't feel as old as my number.

40 when Curtis was born and 41 when he came home - and very happy. That was the right time for me personally.
