I'd take her to the emergency room if he won't see you. Menigitis is a very serious illness and depending if it is viral or bactarial can be highly contagious with severe complications. Not trying to get you nervous, but just giving the facts

Hi Amy

When my son was about that age he got sick with a really high fever and all that stuff. Then he seemed to get a stiff body from it, neck, complained about his legs hurting, stuff like that. So we took him into the doctor and he had developed arthritis from the fever? the virus? something like that. There are other symptoms that are prevalant with meningitis that it doesn't sound like she has but I still think that a doctors visit would be a good idea. I'm not a medical professional (although I play one on tv - lol, just kidding) but just a mom with 4 kids whose gone through some of the same worries - lol.

OT but...

Just a note on menigitis - my sister had it as an adult - no stiff neck - but she the worse headache she has ever had. She went to the ER three times - the third time she lied and told them she had a stiff neck - and they did the spinal tap - and yep - that is what she add...

Hope you baby is better

Thank you everyone for all of your advice and help. At this point, I have decided to wait until tomorrow's appointment to take her in. My mommy gut and instincts say that it is not meningitis...she has NO other symptoms right now, the stiff neck comes and goes and has seemed to improve some over the last few days. She does not have a fever, she does not appear to have a head ache, she is not vomiting or have diarrhea, she does not seem to have any other discomfort. I of course do not want to dismiss it, so we will see what tomorrow brings.

Thanks again for all of your opinions and advice. I will let you all know what happens tomorrow.
