My little guy came home at 4.5 months and was fine until he entered day care at 7 months, when he pretty much caught everything that went around (which meant that DH & I also caught what he got). He had 9 ear infections before he got tubes just over a year later.
Knock on wood, he seems to be developing some immunity, FINALLY. He's been exposed to both hand, foot & mouth disease and a stomach virus in the past couple of weeks at daycare and hasn't developed either. I think the Flintstones vitamins are kicking in.

Abe had a cold a couple of weeks ago when all three of us had a cold. Also, about 36 hours after his flu shot, he spiked a 103.5 fever for apparently no reason. At least the emergency room doctors couldn't find one. He was fine the next day.

Sabrina never gets sick (knock on wood). She has had the sniffles a few times but otherwise nothing. The baby and my hubby both got something intestinal a couple of weeks ago and Sabrina was fine. We've had the flu and other things - she gets a stuffy nose and that is it. I'm amazed.

I was just visiting my dr. for a persistant cough, and she asked if Cassidy gets sick. I said, "No! A little boogy nose here and there, but no ear infections, no bad colds, no vomitting, nothing!" Dr. said she probably won't get sick, citing her first 13 months in Guatemala. Dr. said she might "carry" things and give it to us, but for the most part, she'll probably be healthy! I hope it's true!

My DD rarely gets anything and when she does, it's pretty minor. She's had like 3 little tiny colds and a touch of stomach stuff twice in over 2 years that she's been home. She's been in a early preschool/mother's day out program twice a week since Sept and is still not getting all the stuff the kids are bringing in.
Me on the other hand???? When she gets a little something, I get a BIG something. Ugh.... |
