Tantrums, anyone??
I tell you....two is an interesting age!! And a two year old GIRL...well.....it's like a whirlwind, isn't it? She can literally go through 432 moods in less than one hour. I've never seen anything like it!!! And of course, as you might guess....she does it the very best for me. I should be sympathetic sometimes...but to be honest, sometimes it just cracks me up!!! I just posted on my blog the latest tantrum....i had to take pics!! Rehersal dinner one day, don'tcha think????

I'm glad I'm not the only mom who thinks many tantrums are cute and funny!
Which makes the kids that much angrier! My younger daughter is around the same age as yours. She walks around like she has a chip on her shoulder. If she's in a mood and you caress her, she wipes or flings away the caress. Everything is an injustice. Don't say the sky is blue, because to her, it's orange! And that's before anyone says or does anything to offend her. Yeah, sorry E, it's funny!

Got you beat~~~~~~ Julian, now 19 months old, has daily tantrums which include (kicking, hitting and of course bitting).. I've learned to completely ignore him when he's acting out and when he notices that he is NOT getting the reaction he wanted, he gets up and stops!
Kids will try you and if they get your attention they will continue their tantrums! Trust me when I tell you that this does pass!!!!! THANK GOD!

Maria had lots of tantrums and still has some, but Flora...watch out! She is the queen of trantrums. If she doesn't get something she wants she will literally take off running and then throw herself to the ground!! And when I say throw, I mean throw. It seriously has to hurt. She finishes her trantrum and then usually comes to me with her hand on her head, leg, arm, whatever body part hit the floor first and wants a kiss for her owie!!

We cured Dylan of that pretty quickly. He throws himself on the floor and flips out, we join him. We lay down on the floor kicking and screaming just like him. He just stops and starts laughing and it's all over.

LOL! I think Mario and your DD both went to the same acting school. This is all too familiar. Especially the part where they chase after you screaming when you leave the room. That is like the icing on the cake.

As a mommy to 2 two-year-olds, I am well versed in the tantrum.
I have mastered the art of the internal giggle...when you are flipping out because the lid of your sippy cup is the wrong color, what else am I supposed to do?? Really. Sam wigged out today (while on the potty) because I didn't come to hug him fast enough...as in it took me 20 seconds instead of 10. I really should start writing this stuff down.

Don't you just love them. Especially the people in the store who look at you like you are torturing your child. Like they are the first child to ever throw a tantrum. LOL!! I really get them when I just look at him and tell him to tell me when he is done. Their jaws drop. My son started at 18 months and just keeps getting better at them. If he sees people reacting (since I don't) when we are out in public he really turns on the fake cry. I love it!

Ohhh so you're having a blast, huh? Girls are so dramatic. This week Madeline has been throwing fits each morning because she can't have chocolate or cookies for breakfast. Even if I say "after lunch" it is total MELTDOWN CITY! Good luck. You have my sympathies!

Ian is 2 1/2 and so far today he has had a fit about getting into the bath, getting out of the bath, sitting in the naughty corner for chasing the dogs, not licking enough peanut butter off the spoon and going up to nap!
Sometime it is so hard not to laugh! I just try to stay calm and try not to react to him. But, if he gets really out of hand I just tell him not to fight with Mommy! I figure these are the years that the kiddos either learn they are in control or Daddy and Mommy are in control. I have heard that 3 is worse than 2! We'll see what happens!
