It took almost 6 weeks for our print update to be cabled to the Embassy. Good thing that we had our Embassy appt 3 days before our prints expire. I hope your office is quicker. Stinks to have to re-do them. Another reminder of how long this process has taken. Hugs!

Not sure about how long it is taking now, but definetly follow up with the National Visa Center to ensure they receive your updated approval and with both sides of the Embassy to ensure they receive the approval from the NVC.
Good luck!

Michelle, good to hear you already had your prints appt. The USCIS office will send you a letter and also send the results to the National Visa Center who in turn sends Cable 37 (as it's called) to the US Embassy. If the USCIS sends the results electronicially, that's the way NVC will send them to the US Embassy; if by US Mail, then by mail.
You want to follow up on these steps by contacting the NVC and then the US Embassy (the Dept of State and the Dept of Homeland Security, both offices must have notification that your prints are current and they don't talk to each other). You probably should wait until you have your letter with the new expiration dates. Here's the contact info: NVC: nvcinquiry@state.gov; you can also call, though I'd have to find the # for you. Perhaps someone else here has it. And then here are the 2 Embassy addresses you should follow up with to confirm they received Cable 37: adoptguatemala@state.gov: Dept of State Guatemala.Adoptions@dhs.gov: Dept of Homeland Security I'm in the process of following up with the US Embassy now since it took until last week for the NVC to confirm that they had indeed sent Cable 37 on 10/17. Good luck with the final steps! Damaris
