OT: Blue Jeans for in between sizes

Clay is growing like a weed. He came home at 12 month clothing and fit great well in last nine months 12 months still fits in waist but has to have a 18 month shirts/onesies but pant and jeans that arent all elastic waisted fit oddly. His waist still needs a 12 months but if I do that they are all too short but an 18 month is way to big the diaper barely keeps them up and yet he cant wear either. So what do I do??????? I have one pair of Levis someone gave me in 18 months fit perfect in length and waist but all others(Childrens Place, Osh Kosh, Carters etc) just wont work. So where do I go to get something so either 18 months will work or find something in between. Any advice would be appreciated. I really would like to be able to buy something other than coveralls only. Thanks for your help.

my children are all skinny and jeans are the hardest thing for little bitty kids on the skinny side. some styles of the Genuine Kids at Target have the adjustable waist in as small as 12 months.

I have found that the older gap jeans (like 7-8 years old) fit my son pretty well. If you can find them on ebay or in consignment stores, you can sometimes get a good deal. we have all these are hand me downs from kid #1 who is 9

Otherwise, just do what I do: put a onesie style shirt on, it adds a bit of bulk and keeps the pants up a little better, or resort to overalls and long one piece things

Definetly look for the ones with the adjustable waist. That is the greatest invention ever! If you aren't familier with them, there are a strip of elastic with holes and a button on each side of the waistband. You can pull the elastic out as little or as much as you want and button it into place to make the wasitband smaller.

I haven't bought month sizes in a long time, but I buy Target, Levi, Gap and Gymboree jeans all with adjustable waistbands in Toddler and Regular sizes. And I am sure there are other brands with them as well.

i find pants and The Childrens Place tend to be more slim fitting.
they have "windpants" on their website that have an inner drawcord to adjust the waist a bit more starting at 6month size.
The Children's Place - Product Detail Page

Or try to find something with a drawstring waist.
naartjie.com - children’s clothing, kids clothing, baby clothing, infant clothing, newborn clothing, nartjie, maartjie, narchee, natural fabric, cotton has some in 12-18m with drawstring waist. coupon code "thanks" gives you 30% off your entire order but I think its only good thru today, the 15th.

I have the exact same problem with DS. Someone from this site suggested a gymboree company called Crazy 8. They have jeans that have a adjustable waist starting in the 12-18 month. But better yet I just by chance ordered thier jeans that have a cuff. The cuff is NOT sewn in and you can fold them down and get the extra length that you need!!!! I just ordered 4 pair today in the the 18-24. month size today. I again need the smaller waist size but longer lenght... Plus alot of their jeans are 2 for $22!!!

I can relate, believe me. I find the Gap adjustable waist jeans work well. And if you're looking for regular pants, Old Navy has the only pants that fit him perfectly in the 12-18 month size (they have an elastic waist). Other than that, he has one 12-month size belt and it gets put to good use!

Baby Gap & the Geniune Kids at Target are the best for Cameron. They have the adjustable waist & seem to fit the best. I also finally broke down & got a belt that really seems to help.

I'm wondering when the day will come that they make size 15 month old clothes???? And don't even get me started on shoe sizes for boys.

In the same boat...(usually without the paddle).

Thanks for the suggestions.

We have the same problem with Lucas, he outgrows the length of his pants before he does the waist size. Check out Crazy 8's website, all of their jeans come with the adjustable waist which has been a huge help. They often have them on sale too which is a double bonus.
