I have never sent mine out- I am saving clothes right now and I will be making a quilt later- specifically a tee**** quilt.

I would check with the local quilt shops in your area- there may be postings there of folks who are willing to make quilts for others. Check too to see if the stores have lists of quilting groups in your area as those are good resources.

Good luck and love to you,

My mother made a quilt from J's Tshirts, jerseys, running shorts, etc., of high school memories for him. I love the whole idea.

Anyway, my point is that she belongs to a quilting circle where they quilt together once a week, sometimes undertake commissions, sell them for a reasonable price, and all the money goes to charity.

You might check to see if your area has any such quilting groups at churches or community centers.

I had never heard of this but found a location in PA after reading your post. May be the same place you are considering. THANK YOU for such a great way to save special outfits.

yes. That is who I found. Glad to know it turned out well. I am SOOOOOOOO thankful to know of this option. Mother in the dark here, but I had NO idea this was available.
Thank you for helping me create a memory for baby Thomas

you'll love it! look on the testimony and read the one from "brook." that's me i LOVE it....it is perfect for cuddling...this time around i'm looking for something with a simpler back side that will be more for storing, and less for using. but seriously...they do great work, and my first son LOVED his.....eli is just not the cuddly blanket type, so i know i will be packing it away for the future, and he will have no interest in it.

I'd guess if you ask them they'd be willing to use any backing you prefer...especially if you buy it and send it with the shirts. I have made things like this before from DH's and my HS and college t-shirts and such and they're likely willing to do it for a fee -- just depends on your budget and their fees.

I haven't done one yet because I'm hoping to use the clothes again. But I do know a woman who does beautiful work and will take on custom work. She does the t-shirt quilts too.
Here's her website: Stitches So Sweet - Custom Embroidery and Sewing
Tell her Ruthanne sent you.
