What is considered the adoption date?

Aiden's 3rd bday is fast approaching and we are having a book made for him about his adoption journey and one of the things that is needed is his adoption date. I am not sure if I should use the date he was placed in our arms forever or the date he exited PGN or what to use. Any suggestions?

Legally you became his parents when his birthmother signed the Protocolo after his case exited PGN. But personally I would use whatever date you think best!

I usually use the date my kiddos arrived home for the official "adoption date". I just feel like arriving home made everything OFFICIAL, even though technically certain aspects were already official before arriving home. But, that's just me!

I've decided to use arrival date in US as "happy adoption day" myself.....that was the day that I finally breathed deeply (and then only after we landed at Houston and made it through immigration). In reading so much during adoption process, I imagined all these horrible things that could/might happen but on that day she seemed to be finally a part of my family.

After the "woman getting on the plane and officials coming to get her and her child this last winter", I use the date we landed in the US as our adoption date. I didn't really think about it then, but something still could have gone wrong prior to getting through immigration.

Don't want to freak anyone out that is going on pick up...don't worry...nothing will go wrong with your case...those were crazy times!!
