Off to Guatemala--newest endeavor!
Hello all! I am a longtime list member and our son was a Hague 03 baby! He is now turning six years old in one short month. My has the time flown.
Little did I know how much of a blessing the delays in his adoption would become for me. Because we waited a year to bring him home, I made five trips during that year to see him. Each one afforded me the chance to more and more of his beloved birth country--Guatemala! Now, five years later I have been a dozen times and love the country as my own! A big piece of my heart is there and will always be! I have been blessed to take Moms and Teens mission trips back and have been organizing Giving Back Projects for several years now. But, my most recent adventure is I have been asked to sit on the board of Behrhorst Partners for Development! This is an organization I have visited numerous times and have seen their work in villages firsthand over and over! Their commitment to the people of the rural areas of Guatemala leaves me speechless--okay not true as I could talk about them for hours! Well, I leave a week from tomorrow for my first board meeting in Guatemala! I am so very excited!!! For those who have taken part in the Holiday Giving Back Project I organize for them, it will follow my return in mid-November, so keep tuned for details! I remember you! What an awesome opportunity for you! My little *hague baby 03* turns 6 in Feb...I was just listening to the Kisses in the Wind song and boy did that bring back ALOT of memories of that LONG uncertain wait!

How very awesome. Your dedication to our children's birth country is amazing. I remember chatting with you a few times while we were waiting and have continued to follow your work in Guatemala. How exciting!
