Wonderful News
DH and I received a phone call from our adoption attorney last week. We have our readoption finalization court date set for October 31, 2008 at 9:00 in family court for our son and daughter. We are soooo excited.
  I can't believe this day has finally come. I can't believe it was 2-1/2 years ago that we started the adoption process and now it is finally going to be finished. The last thing we will have to do is make the kids US Citizens. Both of our kids came home on an IR4 visa. My thoughts and prayers are with those of you that are still in the process of trying to get your child(ren) home. Good luck to you.

GOOD for you!!! Nothing like being able to sit back and stop thinking about ALL you still have to do.
We had our reaoption/name change hearing on 10/6 but it has been moved to 12/8 due to the fact that our silly county wants MORE fingerprints from us (local, state, FBI). At this point we laugh when our church/schools want to run us through a background check. We tell them that as much as we have fingerprinted they have nothing to worry about!!!

Congratulations! I know the feeling, we have our hearing on Nov 6th. It's been a tough battle since we got home. Our county is not too cooperative. But it is finally here and we will soon be done!

Congratulations. What a big final step to be making. I know how excited you must be. I am traveling this weekend to be with my grandchildren on Monday when they too will go through this final step. After all the turmoil and the heartache, it is wonderful to see my daughter and all the other adoptive parents, just like you, have one more reason to celebrate! Best wishes for a long and happy family life.
