Question for anyone who lives in Missouri???
We came home on a IR-4. We sent off form 864 for our paper work to come back we just received Sophia permanent resident card in the mail.
What do we do next? Wait for the paper work to come back before we can start the adoption process? We are not sure how the process works. If someone can walk us thru. Please  Laura

I am in MO. If you used an agency in MO, then they should help you with this. If you didn't use a MO agency, then PM me and I can give you the name of someone who will help!

I used an attorney in MO (St. Louis county). he handled everything for us. It was worth it for us to have him handle everything. It has been a couple of years but I am sure I could find his name.

We learned that dd had to be in our custody for 6 mo before we were able to finalize adoption. Feel free to pm me if you want to know our process!

I know it depends on the county that you live in. We are in the KC area. We used an attny that got us a date in three months. We were also told that we had to wait six months, but when he filed the paperwork, he found out that it could be completed sooner. We came home on August 1, 2007 and our re-adoption was finalized around November 5, 2007. PM me if you have questions.
