doll recommendations, please
Any suggestions for Mayan/hispanic looking baby dolls suitable for an 18 mo. old?
I've been looking on and off for quite a while and have come across a couple of dolls that would be fine, but was wondering what dolls you all may have bought for your little girls. I'm hoping to give her a baby doll when we pick her up. Thanks for any suggestions!  Heather

We bought a hispanic Little Mommy doll last year for Mikayla because I didn't want to spend too much on a doll when she was so young. We bought this one only she was wearing a pink tracksuit and Mikayla LOVES her. Very soft and age appropriate...and VERY well-priced. I got it a TRU.

I have bought at least a half-dozen dolls online at dollslikeme.com. Check it out - there is something for everyone there, in a broad range of prices. They also have nice books, puzzles, games, etc. with multicultural themes. Good luck!

Kaya got the "Bitty Baby" as a shower gift. She absolutely adores it and she is 16 months old. Kaya drags her around all the time. I know it is a little expensive, but she loves to play with it. There is also a Playskool doll about 6 inches tall that is dressed like a lady bug. Kaya loves this doll, it was inexpensive and looks like her

Check out the Corolle doll website. I think it is: Corolle. They have a lot of really cute dolls. I got Sayda a Tidoo Sorbet doll that has similar coloring as Sayda. It is very cute and she can take it in the bathtub or pool. The Calin Darling doll from that company is is also very cute. It's so much fun doll shopping.

This is the doll my mother got for Anabel last Christmas - it's from the same website Samantha mentioned above, but I've seen it elsewhere on-line as well. Anabel LOVES it, and sleeps with it every night!

I was going to post this link for everyone today before I even read your post. I found this website the other day. It may be a bit big for your child, but the doll is actually Guatemalan with her own adoption book and story. She is so cute too!

Also wanted to add that some of Mikayla's Guatemalan BFF's bought her a Bitty Baby for her bday and is BEAUTIFUL. Mikayla is still a hair "rough" with her dolls so it is in her room and she doesn't play with it yet. It is soooooo perfect though. I think when they are really young it's good to start with something basic to get them used to the idea and then move to something nicer. I know when I was a girl I HATED dolls and never wanted anything to do with them...thankfully Mikayla loves dolls. I think I may be sad if she hated them like her mommy did!
