Is she coming on an IR4 or IR3? I think for IR4 you may need it, but not on the IR3.

What is the difference between the IR3 and the IR4. I have visited 3 times but my husband has not travelled yet. Thanks.

If both parents (assuming married) see the child prior to the case exiting PGN, the child will come home on an IR3 visa and will be a US citizen upon landing in the United States. You then receive a COC (Certificate of Citizenship) in the mail about 6 weeks after you get home. If both parents do not see the child prior to the child's case exiting PGN, the child will come home on an IR4 visa. The child will enter the US as a legal resident and receive a Green Card. You will then have to readopt (or what ever the legal process is in your state) to establish your child's citizenship. At the completion of the readoption process you need to file USCIS form N600 to get your child a COC. Isabella123 - I thought that a list of paperwork you needed for your Embassy appointment came with the Pink slip. If not, check the Embassy website. Intercountry Adoption Guatemala (Scroll down to DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE IMMIGRANT VISA INTERVIEW.) You shouldn't need proof of income for an IR3 visa though.

What is the DS-230? This is the first I have heard of this form. Also, what caccination form are you referring to? Again - this is the first I am hearing of this. I expect to be pink next week and would love to get a jump on these forms. Congratulations!! You are soo close!!

Hi again,
We came home on an IR4 and they did not ask for my husbands pay stubs- we had brought them with us, they just wanted to see the tax returns. It seems like you are ready to go! Cici |

Your pink appointment will come with a vaccination affidavit that basically says your promise to bring your child up to date on vaccinations and keep her up to date. You sign and notarize it before you go to Guatemala. The ds-230 is one of the forms you need. (link here: http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/81807.pdf) . Fill it out but don't sign or notarize; just sign it there at the embassy during the final interview. You also need the I-864W if you visited (sign and notraize before you go--if you google i-864W and look for uscis links you can find the form). as to the OP, we had visited and so had the IR-3 visa...no proof of $$ or taxes or anything required. But we had it all with us "just in case" in duplicates!

They did not ask us for anything, nor did they ask for anything else that was on the roster during our appointment in March. And many other folks there with us the same day said the same thing.
Can you get a letter stating that you are self employed? Or something that can be notarized or certified stating that you have an income?
