OT - 4th Grade Halloween Party
I have somehow become the room mom for my son's 4th grade class and I need ideas for their Halloween party! It will only be about 45 minutes and we have limited space and limited funds. Help! Any brilliant ideas for games and/or food? I am NOT creative!

Good luck! From another non-creative Mom, I feel for you. I'm sure you'll get some great ideas!

I ran a party for my son about that age. We downloaded some Halloween themed Bingo boards (and you could use candy corn for markers if that doesn't feel too germy
). I also love letter-shaped gummies. One more activity we did: I made pumpkin cut-outs at home and brought in orange frosting. Some other parents brought in decorettes & we decorated. That was fun. Everything took lots of time. Finally, we had a short friendly video for the kids to watch-- for clean up at the end (maybe Charlie Brown? I can't remember) I'm sure it will be a blast .Amy |

Here is a fun and cheap game. Buy lots of toilet paper and break into teams and they take turns wrapping each other like a Mummy. It is a lot of fun!!

Pumpkin shaped sugar cookies are great!! You can let each child decorate one!! You can also put food coloring in buttered noodles/pasta to make worms!! This is a creepy crawly dish
Spider cupcakes are also fun to make!! You decorate the cupcake and use black licorice (sp?) as the legs!! I did these a long time ago and they were a hit!! OH and for a gmae you can put numbered tokens or something of the sort in a bowl of colored noodles and each child will have to pull one and have a prize for a certain number or symbol!! Bobbing for apples is always fun but not quite sure how sanitary~!LOL!! Pulling a pencil from a hay stack is another game. Only one pencil wil have a red tip and each child gets to keep the pencil they pull and the winner gets a small prize!! I'll think of some more and post them later!!

You guys are the greatest! All wonderful ideas! (And more are welcome!)
I am going to have to run ideas past his teacher and see what she is up for. This is her 40th year of teaching so I am sure she has seen it all, but I also suspect she has things she doesn't want to deal with. ![]()
