I know how you feel. The same thing happened to me when Joshua was in Guat. I was very upset too. Hopefully they will save her hair for you. Hopefully you will be picking her up soon
 She looks really cute with her hair cut!!!

you can be crazy about that....i would have been upset too. as a matter of fact, a few weeks or so before my last visit with eli, i remember alexismandyjr's son had a haircut..i believe without her permission. i had this vision of going to pick up my baby....with a shaved head. i actually told the facilitator to tell the foster mom to please NOT cut his hair before we came to get him. they probably thought i was crazy THEN, but i would have been crazIER had his hair been cut. so be mad. but...it is over, so don't be mad for too long.
soon she will be home with you, and you can cut her hair, or grow her hair, any way you like. your daughter is ADORABLE! i'm sorry you were taken by surprise.......

My heart breaks for you!!! I know we got a video about 3 weeks before we traveled to pick up Thomas and they had shaven his head (I know that is normal!!). But I was so upset...I called the agency and asked them to not do it anymore. Looking back on it I realize they were doing what they thought was best for him and they did it to make him look cute (in their opinion!) for his video.
It is so hard. But since then I have to take him about every 4 weeks for a haircut...it grows like a WEED!!!

You can still do her 1st haircut - it will be her first with you (I did J's today). You can save the hair and put it in her baby book.

It is totally understandable to be emotional (even if she does look too cute!) I have missed many firsts too and I plan to do everything as "a first for us" event. Makes me feel better. Especially since I did not miss too many firsts (except Thanksgiving & Christmas) with my first daughter. Hang in there.

I had the same irrational thoughts with my DDs hair.
It was horrible and I cried over it. BUT... Fast forward almost two years later and I have gone through several haircuts with her. Now I know it doesnt make it easier but one thing I did do when she needed her first cut was go through it like it was her first cut with pixs etc. It did make me feel so much better. This is terrible that you are waiting so long. I am so sorry. But hang in there just a little while longer and dont worry about being irrational. You are her mommy and you will have your special moments together!!!!!

Awwwww.....I am so sorry. If it helps you out at all they did the same thing with Mikayla and I was so devastated. Her hair was SO long and when they sent her monthly pictures they had CHOPPED it totally off and I mean it was a little butchered. It was awful and I cried and cried and DH didn't understand...he said it was just hair and it would grow back. Since she has been home I have still not had her hair cut. :-) I feel your pain....I know it's hard...hang in there.

Aww - it is tough to miss any 'first' and I truly understand your sadness ... but you will be there for so many other 'firsts'. Her first haircut in the U.S. will be the first haircut in the U.S. with her Mom and Dad - and you will have tears then also but tears of happiness. Hang in there - she is simply gorgeous.

I know that it's hard to miss firsts in your daughter's life, but you have many, many, many firsts to look forward to in her life. And yes, you'll be there for her first haircut, in the U.S., with her mommy by her side.

Oh Kim, I am sorry! I know how you feel though. The first time I saw one of Jake's pics and his hair was totally buzzed I cried. I really did! We can't help but grieve all the first we've missed. I think it would be unrational and impossible not to but I do guarantee there so many more firsts you will get to experience. Hoping that BC comes soon for you!
