I'm being Proactive & Positive

There is a very good chance I will finally have the BC tomorrow!! Being proactive, I want to start making sure I have all my ducks in a row. Would someone please let me know exactly what documents I need to bring with me?? Also, I have heard people saying they need to bring new, crisp money - what is this for and how much?

Has anyone heard that the Embassy Dr's fee has increased lately? How much is it now?

I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is true and Orange is right around the corner!!!

Hey Dana!! I sure hope you get that BC tomorrow!! You deserve it! I'm not even sure what documents I need for Embassy. I'm sending an email to our agency now though. Maybe that will keep me distracted while we wait for BC!

Did you visit?

Either way, you'll need the DS-230 and a I-600 (probably already did this with your dossier).

If you visited you'll need the I-864-W; if not the I-864. This gets signed and notarized by the primary pet. before you leave.

You'll also need a notarized vaccination affidavit which comes with the pink slip. Again, by the primary pet.

You'll want photo copies of your passports if you visited (they probably wont' want them, but nice to have) and a copy of your taxes & W-2's from 2007 certified as true and accurate copies if you didn't visit (and maybe go ahead and bring a copy even if you visited--we did and didnt' need them but for the hassle of an extra 4-5 pages of paper the peace of mind was worth it).

That's it! The rest should be given to you by your attorney (the sealed medical envelope, baby's passport, etc).

The embassy charges $400 for the visa application for your child, which you pay them first thing that morning. They take credit cards, but sometimes the machine isn't working so you'll want cash as a backup. We had it in new-ish 20's, but the machine was workign that morning so we used plastic and saved our cash for shopping.

I have a list from our agency, but it didn't say to have the I-864 notarized, we didn't visit, so we will have to have the I-864, has anyone been and didn't visit and knows if it has to be notarized, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have it done just in case..
