Another (not adoption) question

We have a freind going through a divorce. Wife is refusing to allow hin to see kids and appers to be hiding them. He says he is going to have to get a court order to see them. Is this common?

Probably more common than people think. My DH went thru a VERY bitter divorce and unfortunately, his ex used the kids to get back at him. People do strange things when backed into a corner.

I too have heard this happen before!! My uncle's ex wife also used her child to back him into a corner and he did have to go to court before she would let him see him!!
A little lesson learned on his part though is be sure to send some kind of support even if you're NOT getting visitation and keep the proof!! Also be sure to write childsupport on the check or money order!! My uncle would give her cash and she flat out lied to the judge and said he wouldn't support them so he shouldn't see him. Without proof the judge said it was a donation!! Yep you read that right a donation!!! Shhessshhhh the cruel things people do!!

If your friend hasn't checked already, he might want to find out what the law of his state says regarding the amount of time his kids can be kept from him. My sister-in-law had to check into this and I believe she found out that if her daughter was kept from her for more than 3 weeks, she could file kidnapping charges.
