New Fee for Second DNA?

I'm told the second DNA now has an additional fee connected (usually paid by the attorney, but no doubt passed along to the AF). Can anyone tell me what you're being told by your agencies? I've heard $200 from sources in Guatemala, and $70 by sources in the US.

All I can tell you is we were charged $350 for the us side and $55 for guat side. It doesn't make sense to me, but this was what was on our final bill that we recently paid. I think it is our agency's way of exthorting money from us. Or our attorney, who knows. I just think it is ridiculous.

Our agency switched labs that they used right AFTER sending our 1st DNA to the old lab. So the 2nd DNA had to go to the same lab. Our first test was $700+ and the 2nd $500!!!!!! I was ill because the fees with the new lab were 1/2 this. Oh well...until you posted this I had forgotten.

I think it depends on what lab your using, we used LabCorp and 2nd DNA was $117.00 and the lab fee was 425Q's which is about $56... this was just on 9/3
I didnt go through our Agency, we went straight to the sources which would be Pat and the lab directly though. But these are the fee's as I took Zack myself .

For our first DNA the agency said we owed $700. So I am assuming the second DNA will be $700 too. It better not be more than that!!

What! $700.... that is Highwat robbery! We have always used Lab Corp. (with an agency) and Ours have always been right around the $350 mark (give or take a bit) and the 2nd DNA will be about half that! Someone is doing something wrong with a bunch of money...

I am so sorry! Ann

I agree. It is agregious on all sides. $700 when you KNOW it can be done for 1/2 of that elsewhere. And our lab was NOWHERE near as obliging as Pat at Labcorp. I called and told them this was MY legal child (for 2nd DNA) and wanted the tracking and they would NOT give it to me. I was livid. Needless to say the agency heard about that one!

Write your letter now and wait to send it until she's home. (You won't have time after you bring her home... trust me. )

I was watching this thread with interest because I have a friend who is adopting without and agency and I wondered if the 2nd DNA fee was different from when I brought Taylor home almost a year ago (same lab for both of us). NOPE. She paid the same $117 to Pat that I paid with no extra lab fees owed. I guess this is an agency/attorney thing.

Our attorney never paid for the DNA's. We paid for everything and it was almost $200
