We are very excited that we have received our embassy appointment and that after 19 long months our Julia's case has finalized. However, there always seems to be a....BUT....or some type of road block with us. As many of you know, the children's home Semillas de Amor, was raided on May 12th. We had an Embassy appointment for our daughter Deisy on May 13th and are very blessed to have been able to bring her home. It was the quick thinking and reactions of the home's director to help make this happen. Unfortunately, there are now arraigos against all children still in the care of Semillas de Amor. This means that they are not permitted to leave the country.

So, today I have requested a change to our Embassy appointment in hopes that something will happen within the next few weeks and these children will be allowed to leave. Several families have gone ahead and received their visa so that everything is final. They have either taken their childern back to the home or are fostering. We will do this if we have to but we will then have to take our sweet Julia back to Semillas until the courts release the arraigos against these children as we are not in a position to be able to foster.

It has been four months since the raid and NO progress has been made for the benefit of the children. So....please.....please.....keep all of the children, staff, and adopting families of Semillias de Amor in your thoughts and prayers!

How very sad indeed. I'm so sorry for all the children stuck in this limbo and their families. Praying for all of you; may there soon be a resolution that releases these children.

Congrats on Pink, but so sorry to hear you're stuck waiting for this to resolve. It's so rediculous that the US can't get involved at this point considering the order was put in place to keep the children from being removed by PGN and disrupted from their adoption processes... Augh! I'm so frustrated for all the Semillas families. What can we do?

Sending prayers to you, your family (especially Julia!) and all others in the same boat. How very sad...it is SO frustrating when the "powers that be" don't do what is in the best interest of these children.
I hope Julia gets cleared to travel soon . You will be in my thoughts.....

I'm so sorry that Julia's case isn't coming to the end that it should right now. I can't imagine your heart ache. I will be thinking about all families involved. I agree with Julie's question...do you think there is anything as a community we can do?
