I have not seen anyting that crossed the line from SKL. I have seen some people that dissagree and are taking things she said and twisting them to their advantage. It is the "Obama" people that seem to be getting terribly defensive and downright tacky.

And as far as Palin's religion, she has proven that her faith does not get mixed up with her public service.

Palin threatened a librarian's job when she refused to ban books that Palin wanted to have banned.

Palin believes in creationism and that it should be taught in schools.

She is pro-life and has advertized this as being an extension of her faith.

She is against gay marriage and has advertized this as being an extension of her faith.

She supports teaching sexual abstinence in schools instead of sex education. This is despite her getting pregnant before she was married and the much talked about daughter.

"I think God's will has to be done in unifying people in companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she preached in church. "I can do my job, but really, all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God." Read more at ABC news.

More junk created to boost Obama

Palin believes in creationism and that it should be taught in schools.
She believes that creationism and evolution should be taught side by side. A 2006 CBS poll shows that only 13% of Americans actually believe in evolution.

She is pro-life and has advertized this as being an extension of her faith.
As most Republicans have--nothing new here.

She is against gay marriage and has advertized this as being an extension of her faith.
Again, as most Repubicans have--

She supports teaching sexual abstinence in schools instead of sex education. This is despite her getting pregnant before she was married and the much talked about daughter.
You know, how would you like your mistakes made public. We all have them and have all made them. We learn from them and become better people because of them. She is not hidding it or making excuses. These are things that have nothing to do with her ability to perform her job. I have done things in my past that don't jive with my beliefs, but thankfully I have a forgiving God.

"I think God's will has to be done in unifying people in companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she preached in church. "I can do my job, but really, all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."
Ummmm...I think Obama has said plenty about God and his faith. So I guess that means he is a radical Christian also.

I cannot vote for Obama. I would have no problem voting for Condolezza Rice, Colin Powell, Alan Keyes, or any other qualified black candidate. Black has nothing to do with it. Obama has strange associations in his past that no one seems to want to investigate - twenty years in the pew with Rev. Wright, his connection to Ayers, his embracing of the views of Saul Alinsky. And above all, his radical pro-abortion stance make it impossible for this Catholic to vote for him.
Now, about his Muslim connection. My husband came to this country in 1964 from Pakistan (and died in 1974). He was a Muslim. He loved this country and wanted our two children to love it. He didn't consider himself a "person of color" , and never felt discrimination about the shade of his skin or his country of origin. He was just a person from Pakistan who accepted others without putting labels on them. But Obama seems to have had a real struggle with his identity. The reason I question Obama's Muslim connection is that his other connections seem to be radical, so might it also be true about Islam as well? If that is a remote possibility, it is not a chance I would take with the Presidency of the United States. Now, just one more little thing. Someone stated that going to a Muslim school would be similar to going to a Catholic school and reading the writings of the Pope. In some cases that might be true. But maybe not. It has been documented that many Islamic schools are training very young children in methods of jihad, hatred of jews, etc. The most likely message in the writings of the Pope would be love God, love your neighbor, care for the poor, the widows, the orphans.

Oh, dear. "Believe" in evolution? Evolution is a scientific theory built on overwhelming scientific evidence. Creationism is a religious belief with absolutely no factual evidence to back it up. It has no place in a science classroom, nor does any other religious belief.

The statistic that only 13% of Americans "believe" in evolution may be the single most disheartening thing I have read in this thread up to this point, barely edging the assertion that Obama is "just a white guy with brown skin". I can only pray that it is not true. Do you have a link to that study?

The key word is "theory". There are several polls by Gallup and USA Today. The percentages differ, but creationism wins. In some polls intelligent design is also factored in. Evolution is losing ground. The more we learn, the more awed we are about the intricacy of the universe.

A woman elects to have a procedure that potentially threatens the fetus just so she can 'prepare to care for special needs baby'? Please...

This is actually very intriguing. Can you outline for me some of the evidence to back up Creationism...I may just not understand where you are coming form. You may convert me yet if you can provide some information indicating that the earth was created 6000 years ago. Can we start with dinosaurs?

A few questions...

1. Muslim is code for black? I've never heard that before.. What does this mean?

2. Sarah Palin is a preacher? Someone said she was preaching somewhere?

3. Here is a link to show what most Americans think about creation/evolution...

Astonishing 88% of Americans Believe in Creation or God-Directed Evolution

Absolutely, in the medical field it happens many times every day!! Specifically any woman over 40 yrs old.

I don't know a woman that has been pregnant who didn't want to be prepared ahead of time for an issues that she may be faced with in raising her child. I guess it all depends on your heart and thoughts about the child you are carrying.

Wouldn't you want to know as soon as possible if you had cancer in order to make the medical and life decisions for you and your family.

It is why we have cancer screenings of every type and every other medical test to catch things as early as possible. Somewhat of a norm in this century!!!

On a different note, if a tornado is coming at your home, would you want to know ahead of time to prepare or be left in the dark for the moment it hits?

Thanks for posting the article, Marcy, I appreciate it. Having read it, I think the interpretation of its meaning posted here might have been slightly different from my interpretation.

Quote:
PHILADELPHIA, October 17, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A USA Today/CNN/Gallup Poll reveals that 88% of the US population believes that God had at least some hand in the creation of life.

Well, okay, but this isn't creationism per se. In fact, I believe this. Einstein believed this. That does not at all preclude the understanding and acceptance of evolution (just ask John McCain). My personal views on God have no place in the science classroom, and neither do anyone else's, until someone can provide us with scientific evidence supporting creationism.

Quote:
The poll says that although only 12% believe in the “random selection” theory of extreme Darwinism, college graduates are twice as likely as those with only a high school diploma to accept the natural-selection theory of evolution.

So, the more educated a person is, the more likely they are to understand and accept evolution. Brainwashing by liberal universities or the effect of education itself?

Those were fake dinosaur bones! God planted them to confuse you! God is upstairs now laughing at his practical joke!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself on that one.

Now, back to Sarah Palin and censorship.

Banning books? The year was 1996. The librarian was Mary Ellen Emmons. Read about it in the Anchorage News.

Palin pressured Wasilla librarian: Gov. Sarah Palin | adn.com

And Sarah Palin preaches in her own church. That is where the quote I posted came from.

Since we're talking about Palin's beliefs on several issues that touch on religion, would anyone like to list Mr. Obama's views on those same issues?

I thought I heard him say that he too didn't believe in gay marriage, for one thing.
