Okay, definitely this could be something serious, however, mine does this and it was something his fmom taught him. They call it "ojitos" I'm not sure of the spelling though. Does yours do it in response to something? Mine doesn't do it so often anymore unless we ask, but sometimes when he's playing with a toy he really likes or doing something he really likes he'll do it to no one in particular.

No...you can tell that when she is doing it she doesn't even realize she's doing it and that she isn't making herself do it, but rather her body is doing it on it's own.

My little one did this too around 22 months old. It went on for about a month and then stopped for a few months and started up again for a month or two. We did see a pedi opthomologist who said it was eye allergies (despite her not having any redness or itchiness to her eyes). He gave us some prescription allergy eye drops that we never really used. The blinking stopped on it's own and I have not seen it since.
