On a lighter note, I have told my younger (bio) brother "you are lucky to be alive" many times, just based on the number of times I wanted to break his neck while babysitting him. He is rather proud of the fact.

I hear ya. I don't mean to dampen the joke there - but my wife, an adoptee, was told stuff like that as well, only it included "you could have been left out on the street" kind of ugliness. Truth is - this kindof colors my feelings on the gratefulness concept as well. I don't mean to sound judgemental toward anyone - there's no reason to think you folks are not great parents!

Yep! I knew that and it's great! Hopefully, McCain will take an interest in international adoption and help things to get back on the right track.

I was excited to see their family with a beautiful dark daughter. I feel like it gave me new insight into the hearts and minds of the McCains--being a fellow adoptive parent. I also liked that I had not heard ANYTHING about her previously, so exploited? No, I don't think so. They have to explain for all of those who haven't been through the process and to be excited about her & the journey...well, as I think about the excitement I feel about being able to be a part of our two Guatemalan daughter's land the amazing journey we took to bring them into our lives ...hmmm Excited is putting it lightly. I am thrilled when I hear someone has welcomed a child into their life! (not bashing anything previously posted...just letting my emotions show!)
