Potty Training

We just started potty training our 25 month old and he'll almost always go pee when we put him on the potty. I think he has some control because he'll watch as he pees a little, stops, then makes himself pee more, etc. Today we went through 7 pairs of underwear. It seems like almost 10 minutes after he sits on the toilet, he pees a lot in his underwear. He goes a little on the toilet but I don't think it's much compared to his underwear. Any suggestions whether we should keep trying? He's been going every once in awhile for about a week now but just today we tried the underwear.

1. run water in the sink when he is on the potty.
2. if the amount does not look like enough, I make my toddler sit back down and try some more

I hope it helps,
Love to you,

Has he shown an interest in the Potty? I never trained my girls until they decided they were ready. We had a potty chair for them and they knew what it was for, but I never really had to train them because they did it when they were ready. One was 26 months old and the other waited until she was 32 months old. If he is not showing an interest, it is probably not the time to try.

I would hang in there. Kids learn from their mistakes, just like we do. I'd give it more time.

Good luck!
