Hi- we're having both kids evaluated next week. At 18 mos they only have a handful of words and a few signs. However, since they came home at 13 mos. I'm not terribly worried and our ped. isn't either. We will likely get them speech therapy just to help boost our efforts though.

We just got back from DS's 2 year appt. When he came home @ 20 mo he basically said nothing (well, mom and dad, but I don't think he knew what they meant). Now he speaks 30 words. He didn't talk for a long time (but did learn a number of signs) then it really started exploding. Now he seems to add a new word every few days.

Anyway, our ped said at 2 years he likes to see at least 50. He has a son adopted from S. Korea @ 7 months, and even he went to ST. He said early intervention is better than late intervention. He is suggesting we call, even tho DS is doing well on his own.
