Calling all teachers!

Just thinking about how many of us start tomorrow.

A year ago tomorrow I was enjoying my leave time w/dd....I'm having mixed feelings about going in.

...But maybe that's mixed with those great long days of summer.

Anyway, for those of you who started already or start tomorrow, have a great schoolyear.

Have a wonderful first day! We've been back for 3 weeks (4 if you count preplanning). It's always hard getting back into the groove when you had such a fun summer. Enjoy your day. We only have 169 school days left (not that I'm counting or anything)

I've been back since the 18th and the kids have been back since the 27th. Today is the first day I've felt 'normal'. I've never started a school year with a child before. lol I usually stay really late that first week, grab some fast food on the way home and collapse into bed by about 8:30. I've been going to be by 9:30 all week and tonight's the first night I haven't been dead on my feet.
(I know that I should not complain AT ALL because there are a whole lot of people who work all year 'round. Hopefully, none of them are reading this thread. )

Today was the first day with students and for the first time my heart just wasn't in it. I was hoping to be on leave with my daughter at home by now but alas after 6 going on 7 months in PGN I am back at school. If one more person asks "how long will it take" I might scream
Anyways... yes Happy Back to School! Hopefully I will be on leave before long

Have a great 1st day back! On the way to school this morning after I dropped DD off I was thinking about how great it is to have her. I also thought what did I do in the morning before I had her? I always seemed to be running late but for some reason I'm much more efficient now!

Hi Arth,

We started back yesterday - teachers anyway. But get this: Our school cannot handle the computer program we use for scheduling. Neither teacher or student schedules are anyway near ready. Today they put the freshman through a day with "mock" schedules, and they've cancelled classes for tomorrow and Friday, with no guarantee that we will be ready to function on Monday!

In the meantime, I still have to drop T off in the a.m. and spend my day without her. She has fun, but I do see her steel herself when I drop her off. She doesn't cry, but goes into what I call "coping mode," and it's very hard for me to see it.

I hope you and dd are well and enjoying the early 2's.

I started back on the 11th and kids came on the 18th so we've been at it for a while! My Guatling also started Kindergarten this year so we're having a great time!

Hello,

I would have started last week with teacher workshop and Tuesday would have been the first day with students but.....I am on leave until after Thanksgiving.
We picked up our DS in August.
It is weird not starting school with everyone else at school.
Have a great year everyone!

Yesterday was my first day with students! It was a crazy day! Last week, I drove around to all of my students' homes to visit them, so they would be more comfortable at school, when they got here!
I miss Conner during the day terribly!
