Speaking of gray spots...what about on the eye

My dd came home last week and we notice she has light gray spots on the whites of her eye. The doctor said to take her to a pediatric eye doctor but I am thinking they may be related to her race. Do any of your children have these?
Thanks,
Janie

My son has them - and still does. We were told it was just a pigment thing by our IA ped and not to worry about it.

My DD doesn't have the gray spot on her eyes but we got quite a scare when we first took her in for a check up upon coming home. The ped couldn't get a red eye reflection when he looked into her eyes and wanted us to see another doctor. We did and things were fine he said it was just because she has BLACK eyes!! Yep that's right they're black and it's VERY hard to see her pupil when looking into her eyes. My and her grandma laugh and say she truly has puppy dog eyes!!

Yep, my two kiddos have those grey spots too. IA specialist said nothing to worry about. It is normal for our kiddos.

Yep- our daughter has them but were told it has to do with pigmentation and it's nothing to be concerned about. her vision test came back fine so I'm not worried.

My DD has spots in her right eye but they are dark! Took her to specialist eye dr for that and "lazy" eyelid ( yes, eyelid, I thought it was the eye but no!?)... He said spots nothing to worry about.

THANKS for all the replies!! I don't think I will take her to the eye dr. I think I just need to find an international doctor in our area.

Yes they are from ethnic heritage. When my DD had to be hospitalised on pick-up, her neurologist said it was a mayan trait and very common amongst kids of Indian/Eskimo descent. Her opthamoligist said the same thing here in the states. Nothing to worry about.
