Readoption in Indiana
Can this be done without a lawyer?? We entered the country on an I-4 visa. Anyone done this in Indiana???? Just got a quote from a lawyer and don't know where the $$ is going to come from!

We are from Indiana and currently in process of readoption. We are using a lawyer because we did not have time for the steps involved. I think it is possible to do it on your own if you have the time and find out all the steps. I know briefly what the attorney is doing. PM me if you have any other questions.

We live in Indiana and were told that in our county all we have to do is go to a country office and get a new birth certificate and that will take care of it. We have to hire an attorney for the name change but we were told that is all.
