OT:what size shoe does your kid wear

My little girl is 18.5 months old and I am wondering if the shoe store put her in the right size. Her last pair were 5s and these are 6s, new balance. But to me it seems like she could even wear a 6.5. I know that diff name brands run diff in size. The store said you dont want too much extra room due to tripping, which I understand...BUT I don't want to be buying new shoes in 2 months either... Thanks....Carrie

Rofl...no advice. Mikayla's feet are abnormally small and at 2 years 2 months old she is wearing Size 4 and SOME 5's. I don't like them to be too big on her. She trips.

My DD's feet seem to grow really slowly. She can wear the same size for quite some time. She is almost 2 1/2 and can still wear some size 6, 7 if they don't run too big. 6 1/2 is about perfect on her. She's been within 1/2 size for probably 6-9 months now.

Both my boys have small feet. David is 21 months and a size 5. Matthew is 3 and a size 6. You definitely don't want them too big, she'll trip.

Shoe sizes seem to vary so much with each kid. Carolina is 2 1/2 and was wearing 7 or 7 1/2 for what seemed like ages (I had her foot measured several times over the last few months thinking "she must have grown by now")

Well, yesterday she measured at a size 9! I felt like a bad mommy for keeping her in shoes that were too tight. But really, just a month ago her feet were still a 7 1/2.

That size sounds about right....my almost 2 year old is wearing a size 5.5/6. She seems to be growing out of them so quickly these days.
Luckily, my 3 year old has REALLY small feet...she can still fit into Target size 4 and in some brands even smaller (she is also only 34.5 inches tall and 25 pounds). My 3 year old isn't understanding how she is now getting the "hand me downs" from her younger sister.
I love to go to the used clothing store for the girls shoes since I can get them really cheap and they are usually almost new ;-)

I usually skip two sizes. Sandals are usually one size smaller then closed type of shoes. It all depends on how wide the feet are too. One baby needs shoes because of the with and the other has very narrow feet so wears them a size smaller even if they both have the same lenght feet. Anna

This is so interesting to see the differences in sizes! My DD is 4.5 and still only wears a size 8! At 18 months she was in a 3.

Wow! What a difference in sizes.....Z is 28 months and his size four sandals are just right and his size 4.5 sneakers are just right. He's also short (33.5 inches? I think?) and light (23.5 pounds)....he's my little peanut....

Well, I think I have one with big feet and one with small feet. JD is 3 year old and wears a size 10. Will is 2 and wears a 6 - 6 1/2 (actually, for his overall size, he has pretty big feet). Anyway, Ive gotten wrong measurements from a store before and had to go to another to get the right measurements....

I think Owen has big feet then, I just had him measured and he's a size 6 at 17 months.
