I'm glad to see my daughter's feet aren't as huge as I thought. she is 21 months and I just had to buy her a 7 1/2. Not sure why she hates shoes so much(GASP) but if we walk by the shoe department in Target she starts screaming and trying to hide her feet maybe I have bought her a few too many pairs of shoes. She has been wearing the same style of sandels from Target since May now, we are on our third pair, third size. Not sure what we will do when it gets cold here. I tried (with her screaming) on a pair of mary Janes today and the only size I could get past her very chubby feet were 8 but they seemed to have too much space from her toes to the end. If I go to a 7 1/2 I can't get her toes past the front of the shoe. I guess she might be very tacky and wear sock with her Target sandles in January (in Ohio, not good)

Sara Ava is 4 1/2 and wears an 8 and Lilee is 2 and wears a 5 1/2. My 7 year old son wears a 1.

You want an extra thumbs width between their toes & the beginning of the shoe. Any bigger & they will trip.

Our DD has tiny feet: she's 3 years 3 months; 30 lbs and JUST got into a size 7; still wears a lot of her 6's.

DS's FF just asked for more shoes and asked for size 5.5. He's 19 months next week. I have a whole array of size 6 and 7 ready for him...!

My niece is 21 months and is the same size as my 3 yo DD or bigger by now.

The store has an incentive to get you to keep coming back, for sure, but DD does trip a lot more when she's in a bigger shoe. You don't want to go too much more than 3/4" too big--about a finger's width. They'll either trip over the extra front end or step out of it.

Size 5 here at that age (both girls).

My kid sister was wearing size 1 at that age. Perhaps that is a record small?

My family refers to my kids' feet as "BIG!"

I just got new shoes for my DD. At 3 1/2 she measures a 10.5.... I totally understand the problem of getting shoes every 2 months. When my DD was 1 ,she wore a size 4. From March to Aug of that year she went from a 4 to a 6.5. I was buying shoes evey 6weeks...This winter/spring/summer was the first time that she stayed in the same size long enough to wear out her sneakers. She actually stayed in a size 10 for 5 Months...

Cristian is very small footed (is that even the right tense of the word ) lol....
anyway, he's 16 mts old, 19 lbs, and is in a size 4 right now
We have size 5's on standby, but they seem to have a lil too much room for now
Connor was the opposite...very broad toe-base, narrow-heels; always had to have a size-up b/c his toes were so long, lol.
