The things that kids say!

Tati has been talking really well since about 20 months and now at 26m she chats all day long but some of the things she says in public are just a little embarrassing ...

She doesn't like strangers to talk to her unless she makes the intial greeting so often times someone will come up and greet her only to be answered with a "go away!" (this comes from "grouchy ladybug" book, one of her favorites).

Last week we were at the SS office to get her name changed on her card. There was a baby in the waiting room, at the other end and someone near us apparently had ummm, gas. Well, Tati has a really good sense of smell and so she she starts saying loudly "that baby stinks!" (now that she is out of diapers, she thinks it is ok to announce when other kids need theirs changed) But it wasn't the baby! We moved to another seat!

Then the woman that was helping us started talking to her and she said to me (loudly) " I don't like that lady!" Uugghh......

That is soooo funny! my DD is learning new words every day, it amazes me, she will be 18 months on the 27th!

I have a cute little notebook with blank pages called "Tots Tales" in which you can record those cute things children say. I assume you could use just a plain notebook and fancy it up yourself. It will be a good keepsake and provide us with a few laughs in the future.

This isn't nearly as cute, but we were at a hotel (MOGUATE!) last weekend and we saw a private party. Sam saw balloons and wanted to crash the party.

He is also potty training, so it is ALLL about potty.

So when we said it was a private party, he looked up inquisitively and said, "Private potty?"

Yesterday, our 3.5 yr old son, who often mentions DD in Guatemala, takes the portable webcam that we have used for videocalls with her and stares into the lens and asks, "is our daughter in there?" I asked, "what did you say?" and he repeats it. When I ask him who "our daughter is" (just to make him say it, since I thought it was so cute that he didn't refer to her as his sister), he says her name. I tell him, "no, she's not inside the camera honey." And he looks at me and matter-of-factly says, "no, she's in Guatemala". So cute to know he often thinks of her.

Prayingmommy, I do try to write some of these things I find cute b/c I know my memory is just not what it used to be. Good suggestion.

We were at a funeral last week and I had Olivia, 2 1/2, with me. She had to use the potty so I took her to the restroom. The womens bathroom had two stalls but the sink area was larger with a small loveseat, changing area and sinks. The one large stall was well "being occupied" and it did not smell so pleasant in there! I hurriedly took Olivia into the second stall, there were about 4 women in the waiting area, and she yells loudly "It smells like skunky in here mommy!" PeeYoo! It stinky" I was mortified and you could hear the women waiting trying not to laugh. We ran into DH outside and she told him there were animals in the potty room.

LOL!!!! I know its not really funny........but OMG my daughter is the EXACT same way!! It is soooo embarrassing. She has always been a talker also, and LOUD on top of it, everyone within a mile can hear what she says. She has done this to me a thousand times.....I am constantly apologizing to some stranger. Now she is 4 and she stills does it!! She just says what ever she is thinking.....so we are always very nervous, not ever knowing what will come out of her mouth. Im constantly telling her if she needs to tell me something that is not very nice, to whisper it in my ear......it is getting better but good grief - just last week we were at wal-mart, she saw a young boy about 12yrs old and informs me VERY LOUDLY "mommy, that boy has BOOBS!!!" I was MORTIFIED!!!!! Thank god, the boy or his family did not hear her. I need some advice on this too.......

Peter Jack has been speaking very clearly for quite some time now - and the stuff that comes out of that kid, is out right AMAZING to me!!!! Here are his latest comments, and the one I will write last are my words to him since the very first time we met at 9 months old, and he is now repeating it to me, which I find to be just PRICELESS! I too write these down and have them as part of his LifeBook:

"Oh My Goodness Mommy, what is that"?
"I'm Not Poopies Mommy, I'm clean"
"You have to go to work now Mommy"? (CRUSHES ME )!!
"Jeez Louise" (wonder where he got that one from )
"Holy Moly Guacomole" (yep, mine too
"No Way Jose"!
"Yes Sirie Joe Bob"
"Mommy is that Block Buster Video"? "What Comes Next"? (This is while we're on the road going home)
"What Can You Get At Burger King Mommy"? What Peter Jack, what can you get there? "Garbage, I'm going to eat it"! Then he waits for your reaction (YUCK!!!!!) And he cracks up!
He told one of the other kids at the sitters the following, and that one really embarrassed the heck out of me:
"You shut up now Ramon, that's not very nice"!

My favorite of all:

"Mommy Loves Peter Jack from here, to the moon, times infinity"! HE MELTS ME EVERY TIME!!

Oh boy .. thats the story of my life !! The twins love to yell "look mom , its a funny guy" about anyone who looks a little "different". One time we were in Walmart and Brayden saw a older guy with one eye patched and he yelled " Look mom , a pirate " !!! The guy glared so I left as soon as possible

ROFL!!! I can remember when I was working way back when my manager came up to us in a store and said hello to my son. To my SHOCK he stuck up his middle finger at her and turned his head!!! I have NO idea where he seen it at and talk about SHOCKED!! I hate to admit that I really didn't like her myself!!

A few weeks back I was wlaking aroudn Wal-Mart and I could hear two little boys singing very LOUD mommy got a big ol' butt and the other one would say oh yeah!! I was killing my self laughing so naturally i had to go see where it was coming from! The mom just looked at me and half smiled! As soon as she walked by I was ROFL!!
