Can you contact the USCIS representative in your area? I'm sure they can assist you with this.

I would contact the National Visa Center to amke sure they have forwarded them to Guatemala. Any updates from USCIS including fingerprints are sent to the NVC for them to forward to the US Embassy in Guatemala.

We had issues with our Visa 37 Cable last August but it finally got resolved with the National Visa Center.

Here is the contact info. for the NVC: NVC Contact Information

Start with them and see if they ever received it from your local office. It has to go from your local office, to the NVC, to the Consulate.

Also try your local office if you can find contact info. So many offices are impossible to get hold of anymore.

Do not hesitate to get your senator involved if there is any indication that your local office and/or the NVC isn't going to make this a priority.

Good luck!

I agree, start by contacting the NVC. They responded to us in one day. If they say they already sent it, they can just send it again. Then email the Embassy again to confirm they got it the second time.

The same thing happened to us, but it turned out to be the Embassy's error-- they really had gotten it the first time. So, don't panic too much yet, it might just be that the person emailing you back was wrong.

Good luck!

This is usually because the paperwork has been misplaced at the embassy as it has bopped around from one agency to another (specifically, USCIS and Homeland Security). They would not have issued preapproval if they had never received the cable, so it was sent.

But that doesn't really matter. All you need to do is to request that it be recent. At the time we dealt with this we simply faxed our local USCIS office. It sounds like the National Visa Center is another option. Our agency notified us of the problem at about 10am; told us what to fax and the number to fax it to; by 6pm we had a phone call from our agency saying that the cable had been received and all was fine. Obviously we had the good fortune to work with an agency that acted professionally and took responsibility for resolving the problem (although the fax had to come from us; but they told us exactly what to do). I'm sorry you're not in that situation, but the problem is still easy to fix. It's actually a common problem and not a reflection of anything being wrong with the case, just of a misplaced cable.

These are their updated prints though. So different than the origional ones that were used for Preapproval.

Fingerprint approval is no longer sent directly from your local office, but from the local office to the National Visa Center, which then has to cable it to the Embassy. So the NVC is the place to start, and if they have not received it from your local office, then you need to back track to your local USCIS and have them get it to the NVC. Then keep following up with the NVC until they get it to the Embassy.

Unluckly, adding that 'middle man' to the process has also added a lot of additional issues in getting updated print approval to the Embassy.
