Name change on CoC- marriage/divorce?

I'm in the process of getting new CoC's for both of my children with their legal names. As I was completing the form, it occured to me that my girls might have to get a new CoC's when they get married or divorced- is that correct? Wonder how much the cost will be at that point?? (My girls are only 1 1/2 yrs and 3 yrs old right now- so we are talking MANY years from now...)

I wouldn't imagine that you'd have to change it for marriage - just like your birth certificate. You'll have the legal 'paper trail' for the marriage showing that the name on the CoC and the married woman is the same person - post marriage.

This, of course, is just my opinion - I have no idea the laws etc.

Yup. If they do change their name when they get married they should get a new COC. It specifically says in the instructions about sending in a copy of the marriage certificate to show the name change.

There is no law saying you have to. Just like getting a new one for your child if you do a legal name change, it is a personal choice. (Though I do think it is important to do it!)
