Exclamation Help!!! Chinautla Bc
What should I do?
The Mayor of Chinautla has had our file for 4 weeks today. He is refusing to issue the BC and is refusing to meet with my GT atty.
I am freaking out!!! Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I would appreciate the advise.

It looks like it is part of the Renap.

Here is a the list I found..

Registro Nacional de las Personas - RENAP

But the spelling is different from how you spelt it... So I could be wrong! See the link above... I don't know much about the Renap stuff, but I have seen other people refer to it... SO anyone please feel free to jump in~!

It is not part of RENAP for sure. I have looked it up also I double checked on the spelling because there are 2 that are so close. CHINAUTLA is what the original BC says. Thank you for helping.

I'm not sure if this would be too extreme but is there a chance he would meet with you? Like fly down there and set up a meeting with him yourself? That sounds a bit scary but if he is flat out refusing to issue the BC, I'm not sure what all options you have. Would your attorney have to file an amparo to get him to give it to you? I don't know how much longer that would take. I am sorry you have to deal with this, how frustrating!

The Mayor's secretary called our atty and cancelled the appt yesterday. He refused to see them. We are calling this morning to see if my husband (speaks Spanish) can meet with him next week.
This is the straw that broke my back. I can't even function today, no sleep last night. Had to bring in my team members at work this morning to update them and ask for their patience until we get through this.
On top of that, my 3 year old my have chicken pox, going to the doctor today..........

Hi! Have you tried doing a search on the forum about Chinautla BCs? I know of a family that struggled with this guy last summer. Both the husband and the wife used the forum, but I haven't seen them on here lately. Try PMing LestWeForget. He is the DH, but I can't remember his wife's user name. I know it took them several months waiting. Maybe they could give you some advice. His wife was in Antigua fostering through the whole BC wait.

Oh thank you so much! I will PM now.
UPDATE: We found the Mayor's phone number but today is a holiday there. Our GT atty has advised us NOT to call him that she will be calling his secretary on Monday to set up an appt for my husband.
We did some research and found out he is going to court on 8/3 for auguments with some union deal. So who knows how long we will get shuffled back!

Hi,

I'm so sorry this is happening! How stressful.

But hang in there -- you WILL somehow work it out! My lawyer also had problems with my BC...went to the town and they refused to talk with him...and then it ended up going through RENAP eventually. It took 7 weeks in total.

I know the agony of the uncertainty is horrible, but you WILL DO IT. We're all with you.

Monday update
Tried to PM Lestweforget and their mailbox is full so it won't take my message.
We are calling GT today at 2:00 so noon their time to see what progress they have made in getting my husband an appt.
We have looked at flights and have decided if they can't get us an appt. my husband will leave tomorrow, with or without an appt. We don't know what else to do.
Open to suggestions.............

My husband met with the Mayor on Monday and we have our BC!!!!! Thanks to everyone who helped me on this one! I appreciate all the posts!
