Thank you for posting. I saw this article in my local paper earlier tonight when I went out to dinner. My heart broke in the beginning for the little girl, but I was so glad she found a good family to take care of her. I was also happy that the nurses realized she needed extra TLC. I admit I wanted a "healthy as possible child" and sometimes I feel bad we felt this way. I really give kudos to parents who adopt kids with extra needs and can give them all the love they can. They are the real heroes in my book.

My younger brother has DiGeorge syndrome. What a blessing this little girl will be to her family!

I am humbled by people who purposefully adopt special needs children and especially who adopt medically fragile children. We didn't know Carmen was terminally ill. We requested a healthy baby. I met a mom in the PICU who adopted 4 medically fragile children. I think she is an angel.

I read this story in my paper yesterday. I was so touched reading about this baby girl. God bless her and her wonderful forever family.
