Poem for the Foster Family and other adoption poems
Hi Forum Friends-Congrats to all the outrs we have seen this week
![]() ![]() !!! Here are a couple of poems I have found and have used in Elainas scrapbook. The first one is a poem to her Foster Family-I was going to have it translated and send it to our FM but she was greiving so hard for DD that I never sent it. Get your kleenex's ready:Saying Good-Bye It must be hard to leave behind All that you have come to know, And even more to say good-bye To those who have loved you so. They've cared for you so lovingly As if you were their own, While knowing that the day would come When you'd be going home. We never will forget them And the kindness they have shown, The love they've showered on you These months as you have grown. There will surely be a sadness As you now will be apart, Yet you;ll always be remembered Memories live on in the heart. Here is one more I have for our Family Day. Today I kissed an angel. I knew it from the start. The first time my angel smiled at me: I gave away my heart. Today I kissed an angel; This angel child of mine Though not of my creation, My child by God's design. Today I kissed an angel. My heart is dancing wild; My family, by a miracle; Blessed by my angel child. I am a single Mom so I changed the words accordingly. ENJOY!!

One Year Anniversary poem
You came into our lives in a unique and special way; You came into our lives one year ago today. I was overwhelmed with joy and love at the first sight of your little face; You filled my heart completely with the warmth of our first embrace. Its been a year of new beginnings, adventures bright and bold, each day a new blessing to cherish and behold. I look forward to tomorrow and each and every day, with a sense of wonder and pure delight, for your smile now lights the way. Here is one more that I also used on our Family day page: I knew of you before your birth, I loved you before we ever met. I prayed for you day and night, Thankful your birthmother had chosen life. The waiting was so anxious and hard, You already held a place in my heart. Weeks went by, and sometimes I cried. Finally one day a call came with good news. Tears of joy fell on my cheek The first time I held you, Precious baby, so tiny and sweet. I''m thamkful your birthmother had chosen life. Rocking and singing sweet lullabies, You've brought much joy to so many lives. I'll love you forever, sweet little one. Memories to treasure, a new life begun.

I found one more to share; this one was on the cover of one of my baby shower invitations done by one of my friends:
One last road to travel- One last way to go. One more day to forever- Just to let you know. The wait is finally over- The journey now is through. And know this comes to let you know, Dreams really do come true.

This is a poem my sister found and gave to my husband and I at our sons adoption party not sure who wrote it but it says alot!!
The Chosen Heart Longing for a child to Love, I’d Wish upon the stars above. In my heart I always knew A part of me was meant for you. I think how happy we will be, Once I adopt you and you adopt me. I dream of all the joy you’ll bring, Imagining even the littlest things. The way it will feel to hold you tight, And tuck you in every night. The drawing on the refrigerator door, And childhood toys across the floor. The favorite stories read again and again, And hours of games and make believe friends. The day you took my outstretched hand, A journey ended, but our lives began. Still mesmerized by your sweet face, Still warmed by our first embrace. I promised to give you a happy home, And a loving family all your own. A house you’ve now made complete, With laughter, smiles, and tiny feet. A parent is one who guides the way, Know I will be there everyday. Rest easy as each night you sleep, A lifetime of love is yours to keep. Longing for a child to love, I’d wish upon the stars above. In my heart I always knew , A apart of me belonged to you. The following is a poem I wrote about my son's birthmother who was a drug user, just some of my feelings that I needed to get out. Never understand you Its hard to explain the way I feel about you I like you at times, at others I hate you Things you did hurt my son Things you did gave me my son How could you be so selfish while he grew in you How could you be so selfless when he grew with me It seems at times when I speak about you I’m speaking about Two completely different women, one who could care less for her son One who wanted the best for her son I may never understand you , but I will never forget you. |
