DS (2 years 4 months if we're counting months )loves a Raffi concert CD someone gave me - he will pop in the CD into 'his' player ... and come take me by the hand into his room so we can 'dance, mama' and together we sing and dance and jump around. When the five little ducks went out one day, over the hill and far away ... as we get down to one duck DS's expression is so sad, he curves his mouth down and sings about sad mother duck ... at the end when the five little ducks come back he yells 'Yeah' and claps like mad. He also loves any songs about animals. What about you and your children?

We love Raffi in this house still (my kids are 4 and 2) and we also love Laurie Berkner. My son loves the Wiggles as well.

Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea.... yes, my girls love Raffi as well.
They also love Laurie Berkner and just about any kids cd we have. They like the sunday school/church song cd's also.
We get CD's at the library to mix it up a bit, too.

The Wiggles (or boo-doos as they are called in my house for some reason) are a clear number 1! We also listen to a fair amount of Dan Zanes & Friends and the For the Kids compilations. Finally, the CD from his Music Together class is a big hit when he really wants to dance (its very cute - he picks up the remote that turns on the CD player, starts shaking his hips to indicate its time to dance and then hands me the remote).

You will LOVE the Laurie Birkner band!! Her songs are adorable and silly, but annoying to adult ears at ALL. I love her as much as my daughter. We have 3 CDs (from iTunes) and one DVD. You can pick them up at Target, Amazon, and, yes, even iTunes.

I really like Raffi too.

This is funny but my dd LOVES Rey Mysterio's theme song! LOL!! He is a wrestler, and although my son isn't alllowed to watch it on TV he does listen to the music on his mp3, some of the music(if I approve). Rey Mysterio is a Mexican wrestler and has some spanish in his theme...she LOVES it! She gets his wrestling figures and says Rey-Rey.....She doesn't have a chance...she is gonna be a tomboy!

She also has a Baby Tita spanish singing doll that she dearly loves! She dances to that too.Although she dances to anything and everything those are her faves!

We really like Sol y Canto's "Twice as Many Friends" kids bi-lingual CD. Great songs and great way to learn/keep up some common spanish words.

No question, the Wiggles are the song-kings in our house! Followed closely by the little songs we sing ourselves, and some theme songs of shows we like to watch together (Spongebob & Drake-n-Josh namely). Connor also likes some Beatles songs (yay!) So far his fav is "Yer mother should know"...lol
Cristian gets a kick out of me trying to sing, period. He laughs at all music equally

Justin Roberts (Yellow Bus & Way Out, but he has others as well) -- a rock feel to them; clever lyrics; real music that's enjoyable to hear

Tish Hinojosa's Cada Nino -- Spanish/English music for kids; Tejano style

Jose Luis Orozco -- traditional Spanish children's songs'; more kid-style music but not annoying; simple guitar and voice

Peter & the Wolf

Beatles for Kids -- Beatle's songs sung by kids; not annoying unless you're a purist and want the originals; nice selection of kid-appropriate songs

Jazz for Kids -- the cover makes it look like a stupid album, but it's actually good music; real jazz style; a few classic songs; introduces kids to jazz style and history (e.g., there's a song that teaches kids to scat by using the alphabet)

We love Justin Roberts. He's got several great CDs. My kids ALWAYS request them in the car. I think his latest CD is "Meltdown". The songs are so funny -- and we all sing along.

The WIGGLES!!! (Although I am partial to the Greg days myself!! and we got tickets to see them in Philly!!

Although DH has gotten DD#1 to listen to some old Jonathon RIchmond (he did the music in "there's something about Mary). DD will request "Ice Cream Man" all the time!!!

I AM trying to get her to let me listen to my new Jason Mraz CD - she does like the "I'm Yours" song...

Oh - you will have to let me know how they are with Sam as the lead singer. I too was sad that Greg had to retire for medical reasons - I think it will be a hard adjustment for me to make but DS will be fine (all the CDs and DVDs we have are from the Greg years).
