My daughter has been home 4 months now and is 16 months old and almost 20 pounds so about ready for new car seat. Please help and tell me one which one is best I know about Brita but which one or is there another brand she loves to sleep in car so I want it to recline if it can. Thanks for your help.

We have Britax Marathons and LOVE them. They don't recline, but it has never stopped our sons from conking out. They look really comfy!

After researching extensively, we chose the Evenflo Triumph Dlx (or Advance)--it is quite a bit cheaper than Britax but actually scored higher on Consumer Reports saftey tests. It has 3 recline positions and has been super easy to use and very comfortable. We joke that Kaiden has his own it's La-z-boy recliner in the car. (tho none of them recline too much for saftey reasons). To me this one is very comprable to Britax in comfort and ease of use for about 100+ dollars cheaper. It goes up to 50 lbs and has "infinite slide" shoulder straps so they are an excellent fit--not just 5-6 pre-determined slots, which is nice when they get to those "in between" stages. Do a search for it online or go to Evenflo's website--it will give all the specs. Also lots of input/reviews on Target and Wal-mart's websites too. Good luck!!!

We have the Evenflo Triumph and Malea loves it. We have never had a problem with her in the car seat and I hope it is because it is comfortable for her.
Also we saw good ratings etc.. which is why we picked it.
easy to clean easy to install etc.....

We always got Britax but since you did your research you should be confident in what you chose. Either way get something like this - my kids are still in full car seats at 3.5 and 6 and stiil completely crash out in their seats because they love these! Kiddopotamus: Products: CushyStraps

We have the Britex Roundabout and the Evenflo Triumph. I love them both. I like the Britex because it is super easy to get the boys in and out of. I like the Evenflo because it's easy to get the cover off to wash. They are both VERY sturdy and comfy!

For your child you will need a convertable carseat that will first install rear facing and later can be used forward facing. Many people now buy seats that have higher harnessing weight limits and strap heights. The seats I mention will do that. My girls have the Britax Marathon and Graco Nautilus (not convertable is forward facing only and will convert to a booster after 65lb). You can actually recline the Marathon slightly. In the picture it is in recline mode but we do not use it like that. Another seat is the Evenflow Triumph Deluxe. You can probably get close to an extra yr use out of the Evenflow Triumph Deluxe since its strap height is about an inch higher then the Marathon. Its inifinite harness adjuster is very nice too. (no rethreading straps ever!)Another nice seat is the Recaro Como or its more expensive counter part. If possible try and instal the carseat you want before you buy. I originally wanted other convertable seats, instead of the Marathons, for my DDs but that seat did not instal well in my vehicle while the Marathon does. Anna

I have the Evenflo Triumph and love it. Considerably cheaper than the Britax but scores higher in safety and ease of use.

Just remember that while most probably all popular carseats on the market meet safety standards and will protect your child just fine, the single biggest reason why any of them fail is the parent not properly installing them and not properly latching the child in.

"Considerably cheaper than the Britax but scores higher in safety and ease of use."

According to whom? You can read many, many, many different reviews, but Britax is a consistent high performer in all areas.

Consumer Reports.

I bought my seat in 2006 so it would have been that year's ratings when I did my research. Of course there are other places to get ratings as well. I was just pointing out the higher price doesn't mean better.
