potty set backs

I need advice. My daughter has been potty trained for about two months now.

She did great for about three weeks but then decided she no longer wanted to poop in the potty. She will go in her pants or wait until nap or bed time where she can go in her pull up.

How do you overcome this? Do I just wait it out or is there some process I can do to help us solve this problem?

Thanks everyone.

Pam

I've heard that poop can be especially difficult for children. Part of it is that it is psychological and they feel they are "losing" a part of themselves. One thing I read said to have them sit on the potty and dump the dirty diaper out between their legs so that they see that is where it is supposed to go. Another suggestion I've heard is to start refering to the poop as trash so that they can relate it to the concept that trash is to be thrown away. Just make sure you don't turn it into a control issue because then there will really be issues! LOL.

Good luck!

Just put your daughter back in diapers or pullups until SHE wants to wear underwear. When she is ready, she will let you know.
