I just wanted to update the situation. I did talk to my husband last night a little bit about starting the adoption without waiting on Guatemala.

I think what it came down to more than the country change was that the other program is more expensive. I think the finances of it are REALLY scaring him, which I can see his point. We were stretching it for Guatemala and now we are expecting the new country to be at least 15K more. He said again how he pictures Guatemala for some reason, and I told him I did too, but that I was getting used to the idea of another country. He said he would try to do the same.

We have some things going on financially that may just bring in some money. The problem is we're not sure how much, and we're not sure when it will happen (its his work stuff -- bonus persay). So we both agreed that we will give it a little more time. See if that money comes in, and if it does, then we'll see where Guat is at that time. If there's talk of reopening, we'll wait some more, but if not, then we'll consider other options. In the meantime, he's going to work on getting used to that our child may come from "anywhere".
