Poll Question: How many of you have a child with a sibling who is adopted

by you or by another family? I thought it would be interesting to see how many of us know about our kids siblings. I voted three times, because my oldest DD has a younger sister we just found out about through the sibling registry who was adopted by another family and my middle DD has two older brothers who are with their birth mom and my two youngest are only children, as far as I know. You can explain your answers if you want, or just vote, if you prefer. I may write a stastical paper on it for a class I am taking in the fall on Marriage and Families.

I just found a sibling that I knew nothing about! I also found out quite a bit of info about birth mom and her other children. I'm now looking for informtion about another sibling who may or may not have been adopted.

I don't know. I was told that the reason for the trip to minor's court for our file was a sibling that was in process (would have been younger) and there was a legal issue there- but I was never able to find out what happened or any more details. So I wonder, I signed up for the sibling registry and I did a borth mother serach- nothing so far. I am just waiting.

My DD has an older brother who lives with his grandmother in GT...so the birthmom doesn't have either children with her...

Two of my children, my oldest son and my youngest (daughter) are bio siblings. My middle son's bio brother was adopted by another family and we have contact.

My middle son also has an older bio sister adopted by someone in the U.S., however, they have chosen not to have contact with anyone.

3 of our children are biological siblings.
Ernie, Frankie, and Luisa.

3 other siblings live with their grandparents.
We do have contact with a first cousin that was adopted! (mothers are sisters)

We dont know really anything about Kinney's siblings... there is conflicting information from the social workers report and the foster mom's knowledge.

I know our DD has three bio siblings, one adopted through our agency. We have know info on her, but I would love to know her.

He has an older bio sister who is still with his mother. He also has another older bio sister that was adopted that we are trying to get info. on.

My daughter has nine siblings...she is the youngest. I met three of the siblings who were being adopted by other families when we were in Colombia. I keep in touch with one family very closely and we send photos back and forth. I think it is wonderful that she has other siblings who were adopted that she can one day meet if she chooses!!!!!

My DD has one older sibling that was adopted and two older siblings who are still with their Birth Mom. I am going to join the sibling registry and try to find the older sibling.

My children are bio siblings and they have two older brothers who are with bio mom in Guatemala. We have met them all and send pics etc and will visit when our little ones are a few years older. Would love to be able to bring the older boys here someday for college or even a year of high school if they are interested.

DD#1- She has 3 biological siblings in Guatemala with her birthmom that we have no contact with and one sibling here in the US. The siblings in Guatemala don't even know she exists.

Her sister here was adopted before Anne Pearce and lives fairly close to us. The kids will have contact as they get older.

DD#2- She has at least 4 siblings living with her bmom in Guatemala and several siblings here in the US. I don't know the number for sure. I plan on doing a search once her adoption is completed.

Yes, Ian apparently has 2 brothers that we know of that were adopted in the U.S. but we have no contact with them. He also has sisters still in Guatemala with their mother. She only put her boys up for adoption.

My oldest son has a sister here in the US and we are in regular contact.

My youngest has 4 siblings in Guatemala that are older and one lives with the Birth mom.

My two babies are siblings but I know there's two more siblings adopted separetaly and we don't have any idea where they can be. We will love to find them and have contact.
