3 yrs today since meeting DD & she's still not home...
6/22/05...the day after getting DS's visa and a day before bringing him home, we met Nidia. She was 2 wks old and we thought she'd be home in perhaps 6 months. Who would have thought that, 3 yrs later, the case would still be waiting for re-approval from PGN and that the birthmother would have to be interviewed for about the 9th time? We're so glad we got to see her for her 3rd birthday but it's time for her to come home to her forever family.
BTW, the lawyer's contact was finally able to reach the birthmom's home earlier this week and found out that she's not there. The lawyer is now trying to track her down in Guatemala City, using previous jobs as his lead. Doesn't sound that promising but I'm trying to remain hopeful. She's shown up at each and every other appt throughout the years. God willing, she'll be located soon. Please pray that the DOS statement appearing in Guatadopt on 6/18/08 is true and that our file, which supposedly had been approved by Mr. Barrios and waiting at the window for pick-up back in April, will be released this week without the BMI.
