It sounds like it will be a very special birthday party.

Since you are having so many guests, maybe you could have her do something like what I did last week for DDs 2nd birthday. And by the way, I am NOT a cake decorator so I am sure that your friend could do something beautiful. DD LOVES ladybugs so it was of course the theme for this party so I made a cake that looked like a ladybug (at least it looked like the ones in the other decorations) then I made cupcakes and put silk flowers on them and each one had a small sugar ladybug on it. I'll bet your friend could make a beautiful and colorful butterfly for the main cake and then make the cupcakes with a flower and a small butterfly for the many guests that you will have. It also makes serving MUCH easier! I am attaching a picture of my cake so you get the idea.
