Do all agencies provide the Guatemalan Sibling Registry information to AP? Our agency provided the link if we were interested, but I wasn't sure if this was standard. I am looking for my sons bio brother born or placed in 2005 but he isn't registered.

"The Guatemala Adopt Sibling Registry is a database that adoptive families of Guatemalan born children can utilize when searching for their children's biological siblings who may also have been adopted. Generally, families who adopt from Guatemala are not told if their children have biological siblings who were also adopted."

Oh that is frustrating! I am surprised they allowed them to register without contact information since the moderator updates the database not the parent.

I am so excited about this post! We know our son has two birth siblings (sisters) adopted, but we haven't had any luck trying to figure out how to find them. I hope this works!

Wow, congrats on a match, but how frustrating! Is there any way you can email a moderator or administrator? Hard to believe they allow someone to register w/out SOME way of contacting them. Good luck!

It is kind of weird. I searched their "yahoo id" and came up with nothing. There is SOOO many people on the list that I doubt that the mods can help. I will just let whatever happens, happens.

My agency didn't advertise the group - I learned about it on this forum.

i was under the impression that if you registered your info, and it matched info in there, that somehow they notified you. i'd email the administrator, the whole purpose of that place IS to match families.....so they must be able to contact them.

I "joined" several days ago and it is still pending, does anyone know how long it usually takes before they "approve" you to join the group? I am anxious to look

To find a possible match address please follow the instructions on the main web page. If you cant figure it out please email the group moderator she will help you figure it out.
Also,if youve joined and havent heard back in a few days,check your spam folder. If you still havent recieved an approval email the moderator again.
This is a great opportunity to find and connect with our childrens siblings and their families.

I just joined has anyone ever had successful matches where the kids have formed a relationship with siblings.
My soon to be eight year old has remembered siblings and wants to find them

We found my oldest daughters's sibling on the registry. Our agency had nothing to do with it. We registered ourselves, as did our daughter's sibling.

We were not notified of a match- we had to periodically check the list for initials, last names.

We are blessed to have our family extended to another state now. The girls haven't met yet- but we are trying to figure out a way to do it.

p.s. did I tell you our girls are identical? Two years apart.
