What are you toddler's favorite books?
Little Miss Malea LOVES her books!! Especially Good night Moon, Corduroy, Whoever you are... I could go on and on...
Wondering what books your toddlers love (always looking for more ideas) as well as what Adoption stories you read to your toddlers that you think represents a Guatemalan adoption.

I have several adoption stories, however, they are way too long for Olivia to sit through and understand at this time. I'm holding onto them for a little while longer. I have them stored so I don't remember all of the titles but some are: I Don't have your eyes, I love you like Crazycakes, The Best Single Mom Ever, A mother for Choco, The Red Blanket (?). That's all I can remember right now.
Our favorites right now are any books that were/are songs. Does that make sense? For example, we have a Baby Beluga book and she loves to hear me sing that as I read it to her, also we have Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Lady with the Alligator Purse, and Wheels on the Bus. She enjoys any of those books that have buttons to push while you read them. She's also a Clifford fan and she loves The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss.

Ana loves anything by Audrey Wood (esp. 'Silly Sally, 'Red Racer' and 'The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and The Big Hungry Bear').
She is also a big fan of Sandra Boynton - she loves all the silliness. The adoption story we read her never mentions a country (although the characters appear to be Asian): 'The Red Thread' by Grace Lin.

My girls love Goodnight Sweet Butterflies, Ten little Monkeys and Ten Bears in the Bed. They actually have them memorized now and love to read them to me.
Other books are any Winnie the Pooh stories and Dora Books. They love to practice the Spanish words.

well MY fav is "love you forever"...but Connor has a LOT of favs. We are book-crazy at our house! I have several adoption story books, but like another poster said, will have to hold on to some of them for a few more yrs. I have also read "A mother for Chico" to Connor, and he liked that. I just bought "Tell me again about the night I was born", by Jamie Lee Curtis. It's about a domestic adoption, and brought tears to my eyes reading it. I haven't read it to Connor yet (I just got it the other day actually).
One of his favs right now is, "I can do it myself", one in a series of old Sesame St books. This one is by "Ernie". We have a huge collection of them and each story features a Sesame St. character. He also loves to 'read' his lifebooks. next...

Ditto for many of the above stories. Another fave that deals with adoption is "I don't have your eyes". She loves that one. I love it because it reinforces that although we don't look the same, we are the same inside!
P.S. Just wanted to add that it doesn't deal with any one specific country. It could apply to anyone adopted.

My son loves that series of dinosaur books "How does a dinosaur say goodnight?", "How does a dinosaur get well soon?", How does a dinosaur go to school" etc. We have every one in the series and read them over and over.
He also loves Pooh, Thomas, Elmo and Curious George books.

This week's favorites are Jorge el Curioso (Curious George), Fue el Gorila (The Gorilla Made Me Do It), and Juevos Verdes con Jamon (Green Eggs and Ham). About half our books are in English, half in Spanish. I speak only Spanish to Julio, though am a native English speaker. It's interesting to me that he has begun to select only the books in Spanish for me to read to him (though I read in English if they're written only in English).
