Heat Wave in the NE

Last weekend we went a a parade (seen below) and an outdoor concert and a museum and Central Park and just enjoyed the outdoors. Today it is supposed to hit 96. This morning, it was 61...but within a few hours it rose to 86 and is expected to keep rising.

We ran to the store and got lots of fruit and yummy things to eat that do not involve the stove. Made a big batch of tabuli salad, and I think we are stuck in the house for the rest of the weekend?

What are the rest of you Northeasteners doing to survive the heatwave?

Yesterday in Ohio it was 94 but felt like 101. More of the same is predicted today and tomorrow. Today we are supposed to have severe thunderstorms too.
We cooled off by going to the pool but the heat was brutal.
Today we are hanging inside and watching Shrek.
We have had our share of "in house" weather this year with lots of cold and snow and now a heat wave. CRAZY weather for us.

Well, we're not in the NE, we're in the Southeast, but we're cooking down here, too! High today of just 91F, with a heat index of 101F. If you ask me, it feels like it's 191F. When you walk out the door it feels like you hit a wall of heat. Yuck. We're staying indoors as much as possible with occasional trips to the local Barnes and Noble or other shopping.

Oh so glad we moved! Today's high will be 63 deg here in the mid-north west... can you saw "aaahhhhhhhh"

Nice since most of my honeydo list items are out side.

All of you NE-sters say cool, drink plenty of water and keep sun screen on those kiddo's!

We went to CONEY ISLAND!!! We road the air-conditioned subway to the beach, went in the ocean, danced to music on the boardwalk (nice ocean breezes), ate ice cream, and bought an oversized inflatable "Dora the Explorer"!

I'd post a photo, but I'm on dial-up. Darn unreliable cable modem!

Tomorrow, who knows?

We are in Southeast, but it has been mid 90's.
We spent all day at the baseball field. The little one (DD) was borderline miserable. I actually wiped her down with diaper wipes soaked in cool water.
DS just made the all star team so it looks like this will continue through Aug. and the heat will probably not let up. UGH! I liked the weather in Northeast Ohio WAY better than here.

We love this weather and have been outside as much as possible. We played in our kiddie pool, went to a graduation party and an outdoor wedding. And tomorrow we are hosting a picnic. Bring it on baby. We wait all winter for weather like this.

WE had an adoption picnic to go to today. But they were talking 93 degrees. I am of the belief that that is too hot to stay outside for any length of time. Regrettably we missed the picnic and stood home and watched videos.

Hot here too!!

We live in upstate NY and it is hot, hot, hot. I think the fact that it is hot so soon is making it seem worse. Off to a birthday party this afternoon. The theme is "beach party". How perfect.

We live in Florida and even for us it is horribly hot right now! Sadie's daycare was closed on Friday and stupid me planned a trip to the zoo with 3 of her classmates and their moms since we all had to take the day off work. It was like 110 degress (okay 97) and 200% humidity I think. The kids played in the water spouts most of the day (we didn't see very many animals) and the moms sat and sweated in whatever little shade we could find!!!

I hate being inside all the time! But, I can barely stand going outside at the moment...we are watching way too much tv!!

We patted ourselves on the back for our decision to install central air 2 year ago!

Seriously, we went to the community pool for a couple of hours; ran in the sprinkler and otherwise stayed inside.

Liana is looking very cute!
