Thanks for asking! According to FM, the birthmother was held for over an hour of questioning but in the end Jorge went home with the FF and the adoption will continue. I don't know what kind of treatment she got, but for over an hour of questioning my instincts say not great.

All the fuss and worry over what to ask the FM to tell her or ask her (this thread: Message to Birthmom at BMI?) ended in very little. I emailed the FF late Sunday afternoon to ask them to please use their discretion and, if they weren't already aware, to tell the birthmother that we would welcome communication and to give her a contact address we had (a PO Box) or to ask if she had anything she wanted to tell Jorge or us or to ask for medical info, etc. When I talked with them later in the week they didnt' mention anything about their conversation with her so I don't know what happened there. Our conversations were pretty much dominated by their grief over the departure of their other foster child (hesabanana's beautiful DD) and so I didn't press them for details yet. Our conversation ended with this from them: "good night and relax with your family because jorgito is your son forever" Which, I guess, is the only thing I need to know right now, although I do hope some future communication with the birthmother has been started.
