You are welcome:-) It's tough news to hear! I think this last time I didn't have time to worry about it as much since I was so consumed with all that is going on with Mikayla. Plus, I was kind of in denial after just going through all that I did with my mom. I am sending lots of prayers your way and hoping that is just nothing at all!!!! Just try to remain positive...I know it's hard to do but know that so many people have been in the same boat you are in right now and we are all here for you!

OH I can imagine how frightening that was for you to hear. It is very common and I am praying your doctor's information is correct.

I can relate to your story, because I have fibrocystic (I sure hope I spelled that right) breast disease. I went to a breast specialist, I was so scared because my mom died of breast cancer. She told me this was VERY common and to limit my caffiene, chocolate and stress. When I don't follow this advise, I can tell a difference.

Please keep us posted...and know we are all praying and pulling for ya!

I had one nine years ago, and did have it removed. The advantage of having them taken out is that they can do a complete biopsy.

It was tough for me until it was out!

You will be in my thoughts.

Don't bother to look on internet, often the information that you could find will kill you first and most of the times is not even related with your situation.
Focus yourself in going as soon as possible to do the mammogram and know from a professional what is going on and what can be done.

Every year that I go to my check up I get very nervous because like you said life can change as easy like in a second!!!!.

Everything everyone is saying is true ! More than likely fibrocystic breast tissue. Do you drink alot of caffeine ? Chocolate ?!! LOL ?!!
I have fibrocystic breast disorder...and they told me to lay off the chocolate and caffeine.
I would have it removed too...just for prophylactic measures.
Thinking of you and sending lots of prayers and hugs !

I just yesterday had my 6 month follow up for the same thing. After finding it on a mamogram I went to a breast specialist to have another manogram and an ultra sound. Yesterday was my check up to make sure that it was the same and not growing with yet another ultra sound and was told all is the same and come back in another six months to repeat just to be safe, we can once again us my breast for pleasure not a stange science experiment that consided of my husband and I looking at each other and saying did you feel that or is it like that on both sides. I know all the thoughts that go through your head but just try to keep busy and know this is very common but do all of the follow up. Sending you good thoughts.

Cindy I am wishing you the best because that is scary news. I have this going on too. Maybe about 6 or so years ago one of my ducts became absessed and needed to be removed. It wasn't too bad. They had to do some mamo's with these tiny little needs (didn't hurt). I went under for the surgery and was released the same day.

PLEASE keep us posted and let me know if you need ANY help with DS if you need surgery.

I'm a breast cancer survivor, so I know what it's like to hear the doctor through that "tunnel." I hope it turns out to be benign and not a problem. And if it does turn out to be benign, I hope you don't forget the feeling of how precious life is--those moments can provide such clarity and are so easy to forget. I'll be praying for you!

As far as research goes, I would say that you're right to avoid a general Internet search. I'd recommend that instead you go to the website for the American Cancer Society or MD Andersen and research the potential diagnosis there. Their information is credible.

Fingers crossed for you. Please update us.

Lisa

Tara...that is so sweet!! Thank you!!

Another huge THANK YOU for everyones encouraging words and prayers.

When something like this happens I always try to keep positive thoughts and I definitely find comfort in my religion, family and friends. Between DH and I we have been dealt two rounds of Spinal Meningitis, one case of Myrsa, and two immune disorders. So my thinking is that our quota has been filled and this will turn out to be nothing more then me eating way to much chocolate and drinking way to much Pepsi Max. Rachel you have me pegged Lisa, I couldn't agree with you more. Life is so very precious and fragile, something I try never to forget.

My appointment is next Tuesday morning…talk about fast service. My doctor called last night and said that he should have the results by Friday. What a great guy and friend.

I will keep everyone updated.

Thank you...Thank you...Thank you

I had one....

I got one my first year in college. I was scheduled for surgery and when I got on the operating table, it had disappeared, which can happen sometimes. They need to be removed because they will continue to grow. However, they are usually not cancerous which you can now "breath-a-sigh-of relief". Here's a website that has some info.
Fibroid Tumors

My friend has breast cancer and they told her to get an MRI as well because they may see other "masses". It did. If you can get a referral for that, do it.

Hope that eases some worry....

I have these. I have had mine checked out via utlrasound and had them removed (more for the pain, as they grow the darn things hurt).
Doc's usually can get a good idea if it is a cyst vs. cancer due to the eveness of it and if it can move around. They will always want you to check them out, imagine the lawsuits if they didnt and it was something else.

Some tips - if the lump is sensitive to the touch or hurts that is a good sign it is a cyst. Some of mine do, some don't.
The mammogram might just another step in a few step process. I was fortunate to be able to go straight to the ultrasound (which can get a better picture of them and then instant asparation (for biopsy). So when the doc calls back, ask if the mammogram will be able to put this to bed or is it likely that you will need an utlrasound as well. If you do, I would try to get an appt at the same time.

I will keep you in my thoughts. Good luck.
