I thought since all the waiting families can use a good laugh that we could share our chidlren's potty training funnies!! I'll go first!

My little Olivia desperately wants to wear big girl panties like her sister so I have been letting her and trying to get her potty trained. Day before yesterday I found her running to the bathroom to potty but she had taken off her panities and pooped on the floor from her room to the potty as well! It was so hard to be upset because she was so excited that she didnt use it in her panties! She kept saying look mommy I poo..I poo!! I explained to her where she should poop as I sat her on the potty! Well I thought it was over until today!!
I was chatting on the phone sharing some good news only to end the conversation and find Olivia sitting on the coffee table with panties pulled down and pooping! Sheesh! How can I make her understand she can't poop wherever she wants to??? Again she was so proud of herself!

Oh well . . . she has part of it down!

Maybe put the poo poo in the potty from wherever she did it, and show her that's where big girls' poo goes. Well, kudos to her for trying and having a good attitude!

I don't recall any really funny stories from my girls. But the other day, I said something I thought I would never say: I will miss some aspects of potty training. How proud they are, how they can get so sentimental about this or that detail of their training pants (my daughter kisses the doggy on hers), etc. What really cracks me up nowadays is seeing them pull their panties down and up. It is a riot!!! When they think they are done, they turn and walk away and there are two butt cheeks sticking out. Hee hee!

When my son was potty training, we were driving through the mountains on vacation. As soon as we entered the mountain pass (can you say "nowhere to stop"), he announces he has to go pee pee. I turn around to him in his car seat and say, "oh no, Spencer, can you hold it?" He doesnt say anything for about a minute, and then I hear him say, "But mommy, I can't reach it!"

We just joined a swim club and kids in diapers can only use the kiddie pool. We were there the other day and Matthew said "when I'm big I can go potty in the big pool."

Well, I am attempting the potty training with my daughter and we are doing a sticker chart. The other day I was in the bathroom and in she comes. "Mommy what are you doing?" "I'm going potty." "Poopies?" "Yes" "I'll go get you a sticker." She proceeds to put the sticker on my shirt and in her most serious tone "Good Job Mommy". I almost fell off the toilet laughing.

LOL!! My little Arianna does the same thing to me when she comes to the bathroom with me. Wehn I'm done she says done mommy and i say yes she contiues with good job mommy!! Oh and once she even tried to wipe my butt when I was done!! We were in the stall together at Wal-Mart and you know how small they are!! It was to funny!

My son has no interest in potty training at 2 1/2 (at 18 months he loved to sit on but not anymore) but we were in the middle of the zoo the other and I had to go to the bathroom. So, I told him and he told me, "pee pee comes from my penis mommy. NOT my tushy, my penis". It was a riot. Now everyone who was near us is clear on that one!

I have a few good ones! We are trying to potty train our 3 year old, and it's been nothing but difficult with him. Anywas the other day he was pooping on the potty and my husband asked if he was all done, he says, "no daddy, leave me alone, go out in the living room, I'm not done." So my husband left him in there anD all of a sudden he hears, Flush! He goes in to the bathroom to find that my son had tried to wipe himself, there was poop all over his legs and he had used a whole roll of toilet paper and glogged the toilet! He asked if my my husband was mad at him and he said no, just mad that the toilet is overflowing, then my son says, "Daddy are you mad at the potty?" it was funny.
Another quick one, one day we were at the zoo, my husband took him into the bathroom with him and when my husband was done going to the bathroom, my son yelled very loud, Yeah daddy, you went pee pee, good job. My husband said he heard a few chuckles in the bathroom from other dads!!

Ha!!! I've nearly had my butt wiped for me as well... but...

A few weeks ago I found my son's morning diaper dry (he's 2.5). I immediately put him on the potty... and waited... and waited...and waited... Now I've BEEN putting him on the potty for weeks... baiting him with a brightly colored almond M&M... but he's never gone. THIS morning... after waiting a few minutes... he starts to tinkle. I was so excited I started jumping up and down...hands in the air like I've won the lottery!! GENUINELY ecstatic!! He's laughing at me and smiling... and then he stops peeing. When things got quiet again he says - "More?" I said - "Okay..." and he starts peeing some more!!! (Is that some control or WHAT?!) This went on for three cycles before he was dry, then I asked if he was done. He said - "Yep", followed shortly after with - "I want candy."

I've since switched to dinosaurs for rewards and I'm thinking about getting him a t-shirt - "Will poop for Plateosaurus".

This is a fun thread.

Alistair has been going potty for a couple of months now but still cracks me up. I'll ask him to try and go pee pee he'll stand there and will try for a few seconds then will tell me that "it's not working! My pee pee's broken!" Also, when he makes poopie, I get the full description of it looking like carrots, meatballs, or hot dogs. I haven't been able to searve any of them since! He'll sit on the potty pushing and will ask me if I can hear it. "Can you hear it, Mommy? IT'S A BIIIGGG ONE!!!"

Love hitting up the public restrooms with him in tow!

LOL!! I just love the little things kids do!! I can remember when my baby brother was potty training he use to count the poop!! He'd come out of the bathroom and announce to everyone how many he made in the potty!! He would kill me if he know I shared that!!
